DWTS History was made in the ballroom, last Monday evening, as the Battle of the "Houghs" continued; and we once again witnessed the ultimate dance off, when the show's eight remaining couples, that were split into two opposing teams, went toe to toe for Dancing With The Stars' Season 20 Team Dances!

It is well-known DWTS fact that five-time Mirror Ball Champion, Derek Hough, has never lost any Team Dance he has been a part of since joining the show as a Professional instructor in Season 05; in fact, Derek has never even been tied ... until now!!

Team Captains, Nastia & Derek, were joined by fellow team mates, Willow & Mark, Noah & Sharna, and Robert & Kym, to dance a Freestyle to "Wipe Out" by The Safaris.

I loved this Team Dance!
It was so fun and so in sync, causing Carrie Ann Inaba to exclaim, "That's the Spring Break I wanna have every time!"
All of the couples' solos ranged from that-was-good (Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson, and Willow Shields and Mark Ballas)

I couldn't believe that Team YOLO was able to earn three 10's and a 9 for their Team Dance when their two most vital members (Nastia & Derek) were on the opposite side of the country for the entire week! I'm not going to lie, that's pretty friggin'' impressive!!
I also particularly thought that the beach towels near the end of the dance were very cute and, not to mention, a stroke of look-at-how-in-sync-we-are genius!

BTW, did anyone else catch the fact that Nastia actually missed picking up her towel (!), and so just kept dancing and carrying on as if she had one, until she was able to finally grab it!?! You have to give it to her, the girl's good!
All in all, I think Len Goodman phrased it best when he said, "That was no Wipe out! Surf's up, and you're right in the waves!".

Team Trouble:
Team Captains, Rumer & Val, along with their team mates, Chris & Witney, Patti & Artem, and Riker & Allison, also danced a Freestyle to "Trouble" by Iggy Azalea, featuringJennifer Hudson.
Oh, snap! I had a feeling when discovering which couple would be on what team that Team Trouble would be great ... but I was wrong ... they were even better!!
Team Trouble absolutely killed it (and kicked it and stomped it into the ground a few times!) !!
As Bruno Tonoili put it, "... No trouble for you! ...", and as Len Goodman added, "... That was so much fun! ..." !
Okay, okay, <cracking knuckles> where to start? Well, let's start with the biggest surprise of the night: Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev, who were so perfect in the dance!

Patti played the coolest and most rythmic (Lovedthe ham bone, Patti!), "Strict Teacher" I've ever seen, and Artem cast as the "Teacher's Aid" was pure genius!

which brings me to my two favorite couples in the dance <drum roll> : Riker Lynch and Allison Holker, who played the most adorable "Nerds" (Nailed it yet again, Riker!!),

Oooo! And I loved the "rythmic clapping" near the end of the dance!! They were just so on the beat and sooo in snyc ... it was fantastic!!!

By the way, did you notice all the nifty "furniture moving" (table, chalkboard, etc.) that was seamlessly choreographed into the routine so that it wouldn't interrupt the dance!?! That took a lot of fore-thought!
In the end, I actually thought that this Team Dance deserved to win, and not just tie with Team YOLO (although, Team Trouble's tie has set an all new record of being the first team to tie with Derek's team) ... it was the little details that made the difference ... as in, every little, teeny, tiny, seemingly-insignificant, detail that was so brilliantly thought out and executed!

"Whateverrrr! That is just, like, so rude!" says the cheerleader (played by the beautiful Witney). "Hmmm, she really is strict." says the jock (played by Chris).

Don't get me wrong, I'm kinda glad that Derek's team didn't "lose", since this is probably his last Season on the show <sniff!>, and now maybe he can leave with that untarnished record he has worked so hard for ... but, fair is fair ... and Team Trouble was, in my opinion, the clear winners of the Team Dances!
"Team Trouble ... the clear winners ... " Whaaat?! Oh that's right, we said it!
