Talk about breaking out of a rut, huh?
… And by “rut”, I mean the one where the Judges cannot seem to get
their act together and give Carlos
a fair and decent scoring!
It is apparent, nonetheless, that this captivating routine, with its
gratifying mix of too-cute playful moments, splendiferously-fast-paced steps,
and exquisitely-executed technique
was just the ticket!

! … Just simply brilliant
choreography by Lindsay (Can
we please keep her as a Pro this time, DWTS?)
and spectacular dancing and showmanship by Carlos!!

“Carlos, look at me, that was not a Quickstep,” began Judge Bruno Tonioli, “...that was a
turbo-charge …! You were on your toes,
there were elements of Charleston there that was absolutely delicious, a tiny
touch of Jive, it all glued together magnificently!”
“… Lindsay,” directed Judge Carrie
Ann Inaba, “I wanna thank YOU, because to me, it doesn’t get any better
than that!”
“… your Frame was up,” noted Judge Julianne
Hough, “ your head was to the left, you owned that Quickstep!”; and, Guest Judge, Maksim Chmerkovskiy,
(with an endearing nod to former Head Judge, Len Goodman, <sniff!>) added, “It was not a great
Quickstep [Dramatic Pause], it was an AMAZING Quickstep!”
This stunning routine very naturally received a scoring of all 10’s from
the judges, with the exception of one 9 from Maksim … Well! That
was not a great score, Maks,
that was a completely stupid score …
