Truly a Season that will be marked within the Ballroom’s
history as one that was practically overflowing with incredible Talent,
stunning Choreography, and fine Dancing, Season 23’s unique Finals were a rarely
seen phenomenon where any one of the Show’s 4 Finalists could have Won its highly
sought after, glittering Mirror Ball Trophy and remained MORE than duly
justified!
Definitely an out-of-left-fielder, Jana Kramer opened up her fabulous Season on the Dance Floor as one of the very few to beat, heating up Week 01 with a sensual and
elative take on a Ballroom Classic.
Noted for her rarely seen INSTANT chemistry with her Pro Partner, Gleb Savchenko, (whose consistently
on-point Choreography throughout the Season proved the stuff that Finalists are
made of!), as well as her always stunning elegant flow, and her feminine grace,
that was strongly exhibited within all of her Performances, Jana exits this Fall's Competition
an inarguable success, having well-deservedly taken her place among the
Season’s elite and final Four!

(I mean, c'mon, guys – and have a heart! – this Couple made
it to the (freakin'!) FINALS, for crying
out loud; and still, you send them packing as though they had somehow FAILED within this Competition?!!)
It’s not right, I tell you!

That said, major kudos go out to poor Jana for going out with such good grace (FAR more than this DWTS
Lover can muster, I assure you!), as the Country Singer observed upon
her Ballroom exit,
“This has been amazing!
Those people up there <Motioning to the Show’s remaining 3
Finalists> so deserve to be there!
They are absolutely amazing – it was our time!”

Gripping, emoting, passionate, and visually stunning, this
largely Contemporary, Freestyle Piece by Jana
& Gleb was, generally speaking, beyond reproach as regards to it's Choreography, which had been so beautifully conceptualized by Gleb!

No, it was the Physical Execution that was the
downfall of this particular Dance, what with that one unfortunate Slip by Gleb
and, even more so (As every one knows, when a PRO trips, it is clearly nearly unavoidable!), that one shaky Lift
by Jana, whose unsure and
hesitant approach to being Lifted affected a more awkward than triumphant feel
and stance at the end of it all.
Alas! And ‘tis so very
sad, yet unarguably true, this Freestyle overall, though still very much
enjoyable and even at times captivating, was merely deserving of the “9”s
awarded it, as it was –SO close (!!), but – less than perfect!

unfortunate! - BIGGEST characteristic of this Dance-Redeeming attempt!
Just to be clear, I DID very much enjoy this newest Tango by
the always gratifying Jana & Gleb
– although I could DEFINITELY have gone for some more of that seemingly elusive
(In this case), pretty, pretty Toe Pointing, Jana!

the girl is KILLIN' me here; she’s so NEAR
to Dancing Perfection!!) ... Indeed, one
would certainly be hard pressed NOT to enjoy this Dance, with its breathtakingly elating, sleek, slick, sharp, and above all, FIERCE Choreography!!
That noted, there’s no ignoring the fact that, entertaining
or not, we’re not Free-styling it here (Not YET anyways!); and, there was simply too much mucking about at the start of the Performance – As, I believe, Head
Judge, Len Goodman, might've
coined it! – and not enough In Hold to make up for it!

Okay, okay, so true (and MOST unfortunately!), James’
Jiving wasn’t the absolute best, his Kicks and Flicks being so very less than
sharp at times; but, it cannot be denied that, sharp or no, this Round 2 Formula
equaled Wildly Entertaining!!

Week's Finals was chocked FULL of
Dancing goodies, including that of GREAT Musicality, incredible, In-sync

little Formula Race Car!!

aided, of course, with some truly splendid Choreography that was pos-i-tive-ly CRIMINAL – LOL!! I loved the Trench Coat and Cuffs, see? – this Tango effectively
turned up the Ballroom’s heat for Monday Night's Trios Round, taking its proper
place as one the absolute BEST Dances of the evening!!
