Performing the last
competitive dance for DWTS, Season 20 <Waah!>, Rumer Willis and her Professional partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, took to the
Ballroom dance floor for one final time, dancing a Foxtrot/Paso Doble Fusion to
"Big Jet Plane" by Angus & Julia Stone.

Super clean, emoting, and
so beautifully choreographed, I cannot imagine a better competitive
ending for Dancing With Stars' incredible 10th Anniversary Season!
Rumer & Val's Foxtrot/Paso Doble 24-hr Fusion Dance DWTS Season 20, Week 10 - The Finals
Rumer's dancing was, once
again, so very flawless and Pro-like that it prompted Judge Carrie
Ann Inaba to stand and say, "You are just the real deal! The emotional connection you guys have to each other, to the dance; in my
opinion, they saved the best for last!".
" Listen to me,
Rumer," began Head Judge, Len Goodman, "I am honest, and
people think I've got favorites and things. Listen, it is what it is. You
are as good as anyone that's ever been on Dancing With The Stars. If you don't
win, it's a travesty, ... Val, you've got a Winner there <pointing to
Rumer>, ... Brilliant!".

that, I thank you both! Incredible!" A somber Head Judge, Len
Goodman, noted "... Well, you know, you're not always 'the
judges' favorite'; but, constantly and consistently, you've been 'the viewers'
favorite'; and, the thing that I wanna say is, you gave so much to America ... Why
shouldn't America give you the Mirror Ball?!"

Concluding DWTS' Season
20's Freestyle Round was Rumer Willis and her Professional
partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, dancing to "Toxic" by Britney Spears, as sung by Rumer herself (and DWTS' very own Valentin
accompanied the song on the Violin) ... nice touch, guys!
At first, to be honest, I
was a little underwhelmed by the choreography ... I thought to myself,
"Argentine Tango?? Instead of the rip 'em, roar 'em Freestyle? Really,
Val?! (And BTW, nice try, but you can't fool us, Val ... "That's not
me!" proclaimed Val in the pre-dance rehearsal package regarding what
would be a typical, larger-than-life Freestyle ... Uh, you wanna
check that list? Your all-10's-earning Westside Story Jazz number
with Janel Parrish in Season 19, your Broadway-style routine with
Lea Thompson during Season 19's Week 05 Switch up Week, your
Disney-inspired Samba with Rumer ... these are just a few of the larger-than-life productions you somehow managed to put on over the years ...)!
However, concerning the
nights Freestyle, it gives me no small amount of pleasure to admit: I
could not have been more wrong!
Rumer & Val's Freestyle S20, Wk10 - The Finals
This dance was incredible;and, it perfectly-showcased Rumer's beautiful, Pro-like
dancing ability!
Quiet, gripping, and
passionate, this Argentinian-flavored Freestyle was the type of dance to demand
your attention (and applause!); and, furthermore, proved to be just the ticket to
Rumer & Val dancing their way to yet another full set of perfect 10's!
Rumer's "stripped down" Freestyle, with it's Argentinian flavour,
was sharp, exquisite, and flawless!
Season 20, Week10 DWTS Finals, Day 1
"Take a chance, and
just dance!", a terribly-excited Len Goodman observed, "
... Straight into the performance: It was pure, it was brave! ... Well
done!".
Rumer & Val dance their Season 20 Freestyle Rumer's' dancing was, as always, perfect! Season 20, Week10 DWTS Finals, Day 1
Judge Julianne Hough
obviously agreed when she exclaimed, " ... It had dynamics, it was raw,
it was real, ... Hands down, loved it!".
Well, that definitely
makes two of us, Julianne, as I absolutely loved it too!!
Rumer & Val's Season 20 Freestyle was
smooth, quiet, and full of passion!

Closing out Week 10's
first Round of competition, Rumer Willis, and her Professional
dancing partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, chose for their Celebrity
Pick their Week 01 Foxtrot to "Take Me To Church" by Hozier.
Rumer & Val re-dance their favorite dance of the Season -
Their Week 01 Foxtrot
Season 20, Week 10 - The Finals
It's almost unfair,
really, that Rumer & Val should've chosen this performance as
their Celebrity Pick when everyone knows that the only reason that this
captivating number did not receive a scoring of all 10's the first time it was
presented in the Glitterdome was because the judges are never going to score a
dance with a 10 on Week 01 (Duh, it just wouldn't be practical!). ...
Barring one or both of them just tripping and falling flat on their faces, this
incredible dance was practically a ready-made shoo-in for a perfect score! ...
But, then again, can't you say that about pretty much every Rumer and
Val performance from this last Season?!
At any rate, I'm certainly
not going to complain about the chance to watch Rumer's fine dancing lines and
feminine grace, or Val's beautiful choreography again; and, neither apparently were the judges! ...
" ... Pure, exquisite
poetry in motion! ... ", as was described by Judge Carrie Ann Inaba; and Head Judge, Len Goodman, took the chance to remind the
flattered Couple, "Week 01, I said, 'This could be your Season!' Nothing's
changed. Only your dancing's so much better! ... I love that dancing!
Great!!".
" ... I thought it
was an amazing dance the first Week," agreed Judge Julianne Hough,
"the difference is: Tonight was flawless!".
These rave reviews were,
of course, capped off with a scoring of all 10's from the judges, tying Rumer
and Val for 1st place on the Leader Board along with Riker & Allison at the conclusion of the night's Round One of competition!
Rumer & Val's Finals' Foxtrot was Fantastic!
Even better the second time around
and so deserving of it's perfect score!

Kick-starting the all new
Judges' Choice Round, Rumer Willis and her Professional dancing
partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, were chosen by Judge Bruno
Tonioli to dance the Contemporary (or, "Contemporary Fusion",
as Bruno called it) to "Theme From Swan Lake, Op. 20" by Pyotr
Ilyich Tchaikovsky ... Difficult? ... Yikes!
Oh, snap! This $#!*
just got real!! The other Semifinalists had better keep on their toes ...
because Rumer certainly did ... and her form was FLAWLESS!
I mean to say, WOW!
There are hardly any words that would do this performance
justice and convey just how spectacular Rumer's dancing was, except,
maybe, to say that Rumer danced like a Professional! Oh! and btw, did anyone else see that amazing Lift at the climax of the
routine!? Seriously!?! That was insane!!
Rumer & Val's Contemporary Wow! Look at that lift! You guys were amazing! DWTS S20, Wk09 - Semifinals
Val's choreography was, in
a word, Breathtaking, and a well-deserved shout out simply must and does
go out to DWTS Troupe Members, Jenna Johnson and Lindsay
Arnold, who joined Rumer & Val on stage at the
beginning and end of the routine with some exceptionally mad Ballerina skillz!
Rumer & Val's Contemporary Front, Left: Lindsay Arnold Front, Right: Jenna Johnson Mad "Ballerina skillz" guys ... great job!
This awe-inspiring
performance naturally received rave reviews from the judges and earned Rumer
and Val a perfect score of all 10's!
"If I had my own,
private Leader Board," began Len Goodman, "you are my
highest-marked Couple! ... Bruno, great concept! Val, wonderful
choreography! Rumer, brilliant dancing!".
Julianne Hough
stately elected to fill Bruno's dramatically expressive judging-shoes when she
gushed, "YOU GUYS WERE LIKE AN UGLY DUCKLING GROWING INTO A BEAUTIFUL
SWAN!! ... " Judge Carrie Ann Inaba concluded,
"That was genius!" ... That was what was so great about it,
Rumer: You were able to pull that off. That was a very difficult routine!
... That is the most difficult Lift of all! ... You did it all with
grace and beauty ... Brilliant!"
For their Week 09, follow
up routine, Noah Galloway and his partner, Sharna Burgess,
were chosen by DWTS Judge Carrie Ann Inaba to dance the Paso
Doble to "Unstoppable" by E.S. Posthumus.

(BTW, Great Job Carrie-Ann! This Dance wasperfect for them!)
I (friggin'!) loved
this dance!!
Powerful, emoting, and gripping with just the right touch of dark. This incredible, 1½
minute-long performance violently told the tale of Noah's past hardships and
his eventual conquering of them.
Noah & Sharna dance a fierce Paso Doble! Season 20 Week 09 - Judges Pick Round (BTW, Great Job Carrie-Ann! This Dance was perfect for them!)
Well, first off, hats off
to Carrie Ann, for creating this concept (considering the fact that this routine just blew me away, "hats" and
all!); and secondly, Terrific choreography by Sharna (!); and
finally, Noah's dancing was nothing less than PERFECT (!) and quite literally
rendered me speechless for a moment or two following his performance!
" ... Honestly,
unbelievable concept, Carrie Ann!" exclaimed Judge Julianne Hough,
when opening the judges' critiquing of the dance, " ... That was one of
the best dances I've ever seen you do. The combination of choreography, Sharna,
incredible ... the story, the passion <laying head down on and
clawing desk in mocked overwhelmedness> I ... I ... !".
" ... The execution,
the shaping, was absolutely masterful!" added Bruno Tonioli. Head Judge, Len Goodman, put the proverbial cherry on top when
he closed with, "Tonight is the fight for the Finals; and I tell you what,
you came out and gave us a battle! It had all the excitement of the Bull
Fight. You picked out every nuance in the music ... Conceived by Carrie Ann,
Believed by Sharna, and Achieved by Noah!".
This captivating dance
went on to earn Noah & Sharna a perfect score (!), which marked the couple's first 10's of the Season!
Sargent Noah Galloway totally killed (hacked in pieces, burned the pieces, stomped on the ashes) this Paso Doble!!

Kicking off DWTS, Season
20's exciting Semifinals was Rumer Willis, and her Professional
dancing partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, dancing the Viennese
Waltz to "Earned It" by The Weekend.
Rumer & Val "Earned It"!
This was a great (great,
great) dance; and I was really very disappointed to see it receive two 9's
instead of a perfect score of all 10's (I mean c'mon, Rumer and Val Earned It, right?!) ... disappointing, but not too surprising,
especially when you consider how Head Judge, Len Goodman, had made
his personal feelings concerning the "Downfall" of the Viennese Waltz
perfectly clear the week before, with the scoring of Riker & Allison's
Viennese Waltz.
Rumer's dancing was
graceful, flowing, smooth, and enchanting; and I found it particularly
impressive how she managed to stay perfectly in character throughout the entire
routine! Val's choreography was, of course, beautiful and ridiculously
spot-on (the Chmerkovskiy brothers always could choreograph a superb Viennese
Waltz)!
Rumer & Val - The Viennese Waltz DWTS S20, Wk9 "Rumer's dancing was graceful, flowing, smooth, and enchanting ..."
However, the minute I saw Rumer
& Val's dance, I knew at once that there was not enough moments in
Hold to please Len; and therefore, that the dance would inevitably (and tragically!)
receive a lower score ...
On the other hand, I was
very pleased to find that the beauty and artistry of the dance was so very
undeniable that even Len - as harsh as he is at times - could not
help but enjoy it!
" ... Another great
dance!", began Len with his critiquing of the performance. "It lost a
little bit of Viennese Waltz character during it, for me; however, having said
that, another great dance! Well done!".
Personally, I thought that
the 9 from Len was not at all appropriate ... I mean c'mon, Len, it's not as
though it were Val's fault that he was given the Viennese Waltz to choreograph
to "Earned It" from the 2015 film, 50 Shades of Grey ... You
cannot have it all; and I think that, given the circumstances, Val
choreographed an absolutely amazing performance!
Rumer & Val Dance The Viennese Waltz DWTS Season 20, Week 09
Now as for the 9 that came
from DWTS Judge Julianne Hough, I don't know what she
could of been thinking! At least Len has the excuse of being ... well ...
Len!
