Jana & Gleb – Review of DWTS Season 23, Week 11

DWTS Season 23, Week 11 REVIEW:  Jana & Gleb

Re-performing a Tango to “Stay the Night” by Zedd, featuring Hayley Williams, Jana Kramer and her Pro Partner, Gleb Savchenko, presented their Redemption Round Routine.

<Eh!>  Not enough Content!

… Sorry, TeamGlamer, but such was the overall -  and most unfortunate! - BIGGEST characteristic of this Dance-Redeeming attempt!

Just to be clear, I DID very much enjoy this newest Tango by the always gratifying Jana & Gleb – although I could DEFINITELY have gone for some more of that seemingly elusive (In this case), pretty, pretty Toe Pointing, Jana!

(For reals, the girl is KILLIN' me here; she’s so NEAR to Dancing Perfection!!)

... Indeed, one would certainly be hard pressed NOT to enjoy this Dance, with its breathtakingly elating, sleek, slick, sharp, and above all, FIERCE Choreography!!

That noted, there’s no ignoring the fact that, entertaining or not, we’re not Free-styling it here (Not YET anyways!); and, there was simply too much mucking about at the start of the Performance – As, I believe, Head Judge, Len Goodman, might've coined it! – and not enough In Hold to make up for it!

Sorry!!

(… Also, ANOTHER “8”, Carrie Ann Inaba, for another ACCIDENTAL Lift?!!  … Seriously, what is with you tonight?!)

James & Sharna – Review of DWTS Season 23, Week 11

DWTS Season 23, Week 11 REVIEW:  James & Sharna

Re-dancing the Foxtrot to “It Had to Be You” (Love that Song!!) by Harry Connick, Jr., James Hinchcliffe and his Pro Partner, Sharna Burgess, presented Monday Night’s final Redemption Round Routine.

Ah, yes!

Serene, sophisticated, smooth, and romantic, this charming tale of the Ballroom’s Lovely Librarian and a Bounding Bookworm besotted it’s Viewers – Well, THIS one, anyway! – all across the Nation with its undeniably enchanting air and debonair-like quality!

One of the best “reads” this Season's produced!!

I do believe DWTS' Head Judge, Len Godman, termed it best when he said that if one were to look up “Dance Talent” in the Dictionary, one would most certainly see James’ name there!

Yes, yes, I know, there was, INDEED, that one, most grievous trip-up during the Dance by Hinch (Oh, cruel, DISASTROUS Foot Placement!!); but, it can also be said that the immediate correction by James of the same spoke <Ahem!> volumes concerning his full and complete ability while Performing on the Dance Floor!

(That surprise “10” was dead-on, Bruno Tonioli!)

Loved it!!

Calvin & Lindsay – Review of DWTS Season 23, Week 11

DWTS Season 23, Week 11 REVIEW:  Calvin & Lindsay

Calvin & Lindsay
DWTS Season 23, Week 11
- The Finals

Opening up Season 23’s exciting Finals and Redemption Round with the Re-dancing of a Viennese Waltz to “I Am Your Man” by Ryan Shaw, Calvin Johnson and his Professional Dance Partner, Lindsay Arnold, presented their first Monday Night Routine.

(Arggghhh!) <Face Palming with Frustration>

Why-y-y-y?!

(Ugh!  Way to drop the ball (Mirror, that is!), you two, on one of your most important Dances of the Season!)

Beautiful; lovely; but, primarily boring, I’m afraid this first Finals Performance by the usually dead-on Target Duo of Calvin & Lindsay missed its mark by a mile, having failed to not only redeem itself from when it was first danced way back in Week 03 of the Show, but also from recommending itself at all as being ANY kind of note-worthy Performance for - what quickly shaped up to be on Monday Night - an evening for Incredible Dances.

- The Finals

(Forget “Redeeming” the Dance, this Ballroom Style, to me, was actually WORSE its second time around for TeamLindsatron!)

Well, there’s always the NEXT Round!!  … Here’s hoping TeamLindsatron comes out for Part Deux of Monday Evening and does what they generally always do BEST, absolutely kill it!!

As a closing note, just WHAT was that “8” about, Carrie Ann Inaba?!!  (It wasn’t THAT bad, just bad for the usually INCREDIBLE Standard held by Calvin & Lindsay, that’s all!)  … For an accidental Lift?!  For THIS, you gave a Finalist an 8 right smack dab on the Week where EVERY little point can make or break a Competitor’s chance of winning the Mirror Ball, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!  I mean, PUH-LEESE, that so-called Lift was CLEARLY unintentional (AKA not included within the Number’s pre-planned Choreography); and, anyway, Calvin’s like FOUR FEET higher than Lindsay, or something, so you’d HAVE to expect some accidental Lift-age during such a tightly structured and firmly Framed Dance as the Viennese Waltz, right?!! … No getting around it, you were wrong for that one, Carrie Ann!

Sheesh.
