REVIEW:  Chris, Witney,& Lindsay

Chris, Witney, & Lindsay:

For their Week 08 Trio dance, Chris Soules and his partner, Witney Carson, chose Lindsay Arnold to perform the Paso Doble with them, to "Outside" by Calvin Harris, featuring Ellie Goulding.

A first rate, powerfully-emoting piece of Choreography (great job, Wit!) that would have made for a superb Paso Doble, had Chris but actually danced it!

(Chris did know that the main objective for this Second Round of competition was still to dance, and not just pose, right?)

While Witney and Lindsay were completely tied up with the absolute killing of this Paso, it grieves me to say, that Chris' so-called "dancing" left far too much to be desired!

Cringe-inducing Footwork, Frame, lack of Musicality, and a generally deadpan expression, all came together in this second routine to create what can only be described as a truly awful performance!

It's such a shame too, when you think about how well Chris was able to do just earlier that same evening when performing the Contemporary!  It was kinda like watching a tragic and overblown version of a Ballroom-ized Chutes And Ladders, come to think of it ... one minute Chris' dancing was steadily making its way to the top of the board, and the next, it's right back to where it started!

As a a final note, kudos must go out to our photo department, whose pictures make Chris' "dancing" look far better than he actually was!
