DWTS Season 23, Week 02

Dancing the Jive to “Duck Tales” by Mark Mueller, from Duck Tales, Olympic Gymnast Laurie Hernandez and her Dance Partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, performed their TV Night Routine.

Duck, duck, duck, duck, GOOSE!

(Um, excuse me, folks, but what the <Quack!> happened?!!)

What happened to #TeamVALAUR of last Week?! (You know, that elating pairing of a Chmerkovskiy and a Gold-winning Gymnast that took the Ballroom world by storm and left most of its competition in the dismal, dancing-dust?!)

I mean, back then, they’d been on the ball …s of their feet, that is! (Get it? <Wiping tear> <Snort!> I kill myself!)

… Now, don’t get it twisted, for on the whole, I really enjoyed this Dance … So cute, so fun, sooo Duck-a-licious, and therefore PERFECT for this duo, since this particularly adorable Couple hasn’t failed to be just that so far – ADORABLE! – whether on or off the Ballroom’s Dance Floor, which is precisely why this Week 02 display of Laurie’s total lack of sharp Kicks and Flicks was so terribly distressing!

(Val, Val, Val! The girl is nearly Dancing Perfection personified; but, you must actually take the time and work with her on her Technical Execution instead of just – Dare I say? –“phoning it in” and assuming she’d naturally have all these crazy Ballroom details down, or something!)

That said, I really did enjoy this quack-packed, full-of-feathery-fun performance; and, I can’t WAIT to see what this Couple will come up with next Week!
