Well, to be completely, albeit brutally honest, I didn’t much care for this Routine.

Antonio’s Dancing, although admittedly better than most nights of Competition (Thanks, let’s face it, folks, in large part to the blurred “structure” and “rules” that make up a more Artistically Free form of Movement, such as Contemporary Dance), was nonetheless persistently stiff, as though he were only going through the Motions of the Routine, instead of being, as he ought, more relaxed, natural, musical, and Fluid.

There were, however, those truly impressive Lifts, and more so, that mind-blowing, Running Lift which, by evening’s end, successfully served as one of the more “Breathtaking Moments” of the Semifinals as a whole.

 ... Still, it seems only fair to the night's other Competitors to mention that these same Lifts had been presumably made all the more impacting, due to their stark opposition to an otherwise Flat Showing.

Dancing the Argentine Tango to “Mi Confesion” by Gotan Project, Antonio Brown and his Pro partner, Sharna Burgess, were joined by DWTS Troupe Member, Hayley Erbert, for their Semifinals Trio Routine.

Well, oddly enough, I loved this Dance!

…  I use the word “oddly” here because my love of this Dance has little, if ANYTHING, to do with Antonio’s Execution of it!

(Indeed, Antonio’s Semifinals Exhibit, as a whole when taking into account his much more Ballroom-apt Competition, would have many wondering how on earth he had ever made this far!)

No, it was simply a very natural and direct result of the stereo-typically obvious allure of his Pro, Sharna’s, always brilliant, and more so, breathtaking Choreography that was once again exemplified in the creation of this Performance.

And again, Hayley’s dancing of it (along, of course, with Sharna's!) perfectly complimented this delightfully complex, and yet, basically passionate Latin Routine!

Antonio -o-o-o, on the other hand, with his Sloppy Footwork, his often Slumped Shoulders, and his Soft Kicks brought what should have easily served as an Immaculate Showing down to a decidedly sub-par effect.

Dancing a "Vietnamese" … Oh!  Wait, no, scratch that!  … VIENNESE Waltz to “Love on the Brain” by Rihanna, Antonio Brown and his Pro partner,  Sharna Burgess, submitted their Week 07 Routine.

Well, I didn’t much care for this particular Routine, to be completely, albeit brutally, honest.

A Smooth and Romantic Number (Nice work, Sharna!);

although, Antonio (I thought) looked and felt at odds with this graceful Routine, via his Hunched Frame, Stiff Lines, and (sorry, Antonio!) Sub-par Footwork!

Granted, Brown did seem to come alive towards the end of this Performance, effectively breaking out suddenly into a more Gentle Flow and Elegant form of Movement, but even this well-meaning effort seem to exemplify the expression “Too Little, Too Late” and was simply not enough to bring the overall Dance up from its shaky beginnings to anything but “Decent”.

REVIEW: Antonio & Sharna

Dancing a Dark (“… Like a Club Dance at Slytherin!” quipped DWTS Host, Tom Bergeron) but, nonetheless, Delightful Tango to “Paint It Black” by The Rolling Stones, NFL Wide Receiver, Antonio Brown, and his Professional partner, Sharna Burgess, submitted their Week 07 Routine.

First off, as this really must be said, TERRIFIC Choreography was once again displayed by the ever-brilliant Sharna who, incidentally, was also completely killing it in that gorgeous Dress!

 … Seriously, she looked great!!  …Maybe even a little bit TOO great, but still …

(Although, truth be told, I don’t really know why everyone seemed to making such a fuss over her near-Wardrobe Malfunction, since that’s precisely what it was, a NEAR Malfunction.)

And secondly, it should equally be noted that Antonio has hardly ever looked better!

Okay, okay, so perhaps not one of his BEST Dances to date, but most certainly not his worst either!

On the contrary, what Brown may have indeed seriously lacked overall in Frame, Lines, and Footwork, he MORE than made up for with his undeniable Showmanship and Performer’s Pizzazz, as well as a Fierce Attitude perfectly suited for this stereotypically severe Latin Dance!

“Well, Tango is a balance between Attack and Purpose, and Style and Finesse” observed Head Judge, Len Goodman, at the Dance's conclusion. “This [one] had plenty of Attitude, there was a few mistakes going on throughout <interrupted by Loud Booing from the show’s Live Audience> - Sorry, I only speak the truth, and what I say is what I see - There was a few mistakes during that Routine.  But I love your ... You're coming out with determination!”

“… You gotta get this Technique down,” warned Panel Judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, “and you gotta learn to finish your Moves!  … The nuances of that Movement is what's lacking, and if you can get that, watch out! …”

REVIEW: Antonio & Sharna

Dancing a truly FANTASTIC Jive to "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins, NFL Wide Receiver, Antonio Brown, and Professional partner, Sharna Burgess, presented their Famous Dances Routine!  Alright, all you Brown-Fans, sit back and prepare to lose those Ballroom-Blues as Antonio just cut Footloose!

"Jump back!"  … 'Cause the once more reunited Team of Antonio & Sharna are on the Dance Floor and BOOMING once more!!

I mean to say, I freaking LOVED this Performance!!

Closing down Monday's Fab Fame-Theme Night, the once again exciting Duo of TeamBooming came out at the last and absolutely killed it with a no less than THRILLING Routine!

Seriously, now folks, WHERE did that even come from (and where can we get more of it, please?!) because THIS Performance is very easily - and so well-deservedly! - going down as one the better ones of Season 22!!

Full of Fun and Nostalgic Moments (Wonderful job, Sharna!), this Dance served to delightfully showcase Antonio's greatly improved Frame and Footwork as well as his staunchly consistent and always Pleasing Sense of Musicality and Rhythm, when with each and every Sharp Kick and gratifying Flick, Brown's Terrific Execution allowed us to fall in love once more with his Particular Pizzazz, Dance Moves, and Style!!

"Awesome!" exclaimed Judge Carrie Ann Inaba simply upon viewing this Performance, " 'Everybody cut, everybody cut …'! That's the way to bring the House Down at the end of this incredible night!  That was fabulous!  … You killed it!  Way to go!"

"Well, there's Four Weeks to go," began Head Judge, Len Goodman, next with his critiques, "and this Competition is anyone's to Win or Lose.  It's as much about the 'Will to Win' as the 'Skill to Win', and you come out with a great attitude, produced your best Dance, and [you're] just gearing up!"

"Antonio, tonight you've proven that you are a Leading Man!" concluded Judge Bruno Tonioli with the Judges' comments. "You performed this Dance as the center of attention throughout!  You never lost focus.  We could only look at you [sic].  You've got it all!  Hard work pays off and you proved it!"

That’s right, folks, Booming Brown was BACK on last Monday evening, tearing up the Ballroom’s Dance Floor with one FABULOUS Cha-Cha Performance!

“Fabulous” but unfortunately not “Flawless”; however, as this amazing Routine did also serve to once again Showcase Antonio’s Heavy Footwork and Dragging Musicality, along with a Just-not-quite-there!-Cha-Cha Walk.

(Although, to be fair to that last pointer, which Celebrities really do truly excel when Exhibiting this Dancing, Latin Gait, except for the very few exceptions???)

Still, Brown’s stereotypical and always enjoyable panache for General Showmanship and Pizzazz remained delightfully intact; and, what’s more, SUPREME within this Routine, having been so effectually aided and shown off by Karina’s immaculate, fun, and stupendous Choreography!  … Another STELLAR Job, Smirnoff, I loved it!!

In the end I felt as though the 6’s given by Judges, Len and Maks, to this Performance were more than a little harsh and unjustified; and, I wouldn’t even have minded if one or two 8’s had been tossed around in this Dance’s overall Score either!

Yes sir, Antonio sir, and WHAT a pleasing treat!  Antonio just came out there and EXPLODED on Monday night’s Dance Floor, officially opening up Week 04 with his absolute BEST Performance yet!!

INCREDIBLY In-sync Steps and Footwork, a Commanding Stage Presence and Charisma, some Expert Musicality, and Plenty of Fun and Pizzazz all came together for Antonio during this Number which, at the time, would afford him the highest Score of the Season to date, of  9,8,9,9!!

And what of Sharna, who, through the aide of her characteristically BRILLIANT Choreography, would once again seamlessly step back into the role of Princess Jasmine (Sharna had first portrayed Jasmine in Season 20, with the eventual 3^rd Place Finalist, Noah Galloway) and offer a fresh, bold taste on a Song and Dance Pairing that had already been performed 2 years ago (in Season 18 with Drew & Cheryl)!!

“I said it a couple of weeks ago,” exclaimed Head Judge, Len Goodman, once the terrific Dance was through, “ ‘There’s a Dancer in there, and it’s just not come out!’  Tonight, the Dancer came out, you produced your best Dance so far, congratulations!”
