It’s a seemingly  “highly superior” moment of celebration for the Show and its Fans, as party-downer and NEVER at fault (Never, ever, EVER!!) Contestant, Marilu Henner, was formally booted off on Monday evening for the conclusion of Season 23’s exciting Showstoppers Night.

Albeit a more than generally expected Elimination for the Program, and while Derek seemed quite content with the announcement, Marilu herself appeared, well … NOT!!

Whatever the case, Season 23 sans Henner (Sorry, Hough, but  I really think you're better off anyway!) sounds alright to me.

Stirring up some mighty fine performin' with the dancing of this exciting Paso, this particular artistic excursion into the Ballroom’s wild, wild West – albeit most gratifying! – was far more Entertaining than it was Well Executed!

Now, don’t get me wrong, for overall I really and truly enjoyed this Number – Of course, it would be really hard NOT to, with its inclusion of two of Season 23’s top Mirror Ball contenders!! – yet, it cannot be denied that Calvin’s dancing, though powerful and strong, was, in a word, Heavy-footed, and James’ dancing, though once again defined by his EXCELLENT Character Portrayal skills and all around Performance Pizzaz, came off seeming a bit weak and watered down.

Even still, the overall presiding fun feeling of this Routine – Thanks in large part to James and Calvin's talented pardners, Sharna, Jenna, and Lindsay!! – remained evident and extremely pleasing throughout!

Gripping, dramatic, and daringly EXQUISITE, what else is really to be expected from the marriage of these two great, Season 23 talents, whose pairing up for this Team was so incredibly gratifying!!

Aided with what was, in a word, EXEMPLARY Choreography (Amazing work, Val and Gleb!!), this Dance served as the unequivocal BEST of Week 09’s 2nd Round of Competition, as well as one of the better ones of this entire Season!!

Dancing the Samba to “December, 1963 (Oh What a Night)” by The Four Seasons from Jersey Boys, Marilu Henner and her Professional Partner, Derek Hough, presented their Week 09 Routine.

Oh, what a Number!  Oh, what a Song!  Oh, what a …. Sub-PAR Samba!!

(Can I get an <Eeek!>?!)

With a horrible Frame, sloppy Footwork, and that more than slightly disturbing segment where Marilu seemed to have suddenly turned part chicken – Seriously, did no one else catch that weird and out-of-place Head Bob displayed by Henner during this Performance???  … What WAS that?! –this less than memorable showing (… Perhaps for even the Actress herself!) was hardly deserving of the “6”s or “7”s that would have ideally been thrown at it in Judges Points …

… Much LESS the all “9”s that were actually appointed to it!!

(WTF?!!  Are these DWTS Judges just off their uncomfortable looking, straight-back, Judges-Rockers tonight, or what??)

That said, the Choreography of this Routine was very rhythmic, and pleasing (Stellar job, Hough, as always!), and the live Performance from Broadway’s Jersey Boys – which included the Ballroom’s very own Mark Ballas, singing lead as the one and only Frankie Vallie, was far more than gratifying!
