“I love those little touches!” exclaimed an excited Head Judge, Len Goodman, following the immaculate Performance. “I loved those Walks, and then the Sharp Head! The way you two girls Pivoted Away, and then you [Wanya] came! Listen … this is what you get, Son! <Standing Up to give an always highly sought after Standing Ovation from himself>”

… Well, I do believe that says it all!  Well DONE, you guys!  Well done, well done, well done!!

Hot DOG!!

I mean to say that I  positively ADORED this next Superbly Danced, Spectacular Routine!

Yesiree, boy! – And mind if I cheer unabashedly?! – the incredible Duo of  TeamYayZee’s Semifinals Tour was made complete and capped off BRILLIANTLY when Performance Perfection met with Super Fun on the Ballroom Dance Floor, effectively creating one of the absolute best and ENJOYABLE Charlestons that the show has ever seen!

Insanely Terrific Footwork, Wonderful Musicality, and one truly Exquisite display of Showmanship Charisma was yet again Exhibited by Wanya during this Number, allowing him to (albeit, inadvertently) shut down his Amazing Competitive Season in all the right and high-scoring ways!!

“If ‘Natural Dance Talent’ was in the Dictionary, there'd be a photograph of you, I’m telling you!!” stated Head Judge, Len Goodman, when the Dance was through. “Wanya, Wanya, truly, I so hope that you're in the Finals, because you bring joy to me and the whole Ballroom! You’re great!”

Judges Team Up Challenge – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 08

DWTS Season 22, Week 08

REVIEW:  Judges Team Up Challenge

Introducing its first ever Judges Team Up Challenge round of Competition, Dancing With The Stars’ three, Panel Judges each chose 2 of the Season's 6 remaining Couples to “Team Up” in a presumably exciting Dancing Quartet with unexpected results …

Team Bruno:

Dancing the Argentine Tango to “Habanera” by Georges Bazet, DWTS Judge, Bruno Tonioli’s, selected Team of Jodie & Keo and Nyle & Peta submitted their Team Up Performance.

DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round

The better, in my opinion, of the three Team Up routines, Team Bruno’s over all execution of this difficult Latin Dance was surprisingly great for all the individual parties involved.

Indeed, Jodie Sweetin’s opening of the smooth and silky Number, with the three other Dancing Professionals (including that of Pro, Peta Murgatrod), was exceptionally good, even by Jodie’s own highly set and strictly kept standards!

Granted, that there were one or two moments during the Opening of the Dance, and again near the Close, when her Dancing Lines were not quite Sharp, nor Fully Extended; but overall, I must say, a truly stellar Performance!!

Likewise, Nyle DiMarrco’s Strong yet Fluid Exhibition proved most excellent, impressively holding his own when mercilessly stacked up against the Routine's three other Male Professionals!
All in all a most gratifying effort within this novel Round, and most certainly the most successful!

Team Len:

Dancing a Strangely Subpar Samba to “Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora)” by Harry Belafonte, Head Judge,  Len Goodman’s, chosen Couples of Ginger & Val and  Wanya & Lindsay presented their Team Up Routine.

DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round

<Mouth gaping wide open in horrified, stunned disbelief>  Oh, good grief! WHAT a disappointment!

(What is the world of Ballroom Dance coming too?!!)

Is it just me, or did DWTS Beloved – and highly respected – Len just tragically fail, and somewhat miserably at that???

This seemingly phoned-in, total child's play of a Performance was upsetting and (dare I say?) IRRITATING, to say the least, as DWTS' no-fuss, no-muss Judge appeared suddenly incompetent, Choreographing what was truly one of the absolute DUMBEST Dances witnessed in the show's adored Ballroom - at least, that I can remember – in a long (LONG) while!

DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round

Honestly, Len, just because you’re the Best in the Ballroom doesn’t mean that you don’t have to actually try … like, AT ALL!!

Even with Len making a brief - and completely UN-GRATIFYING - appearance near the end of this depressing and sickening colorful array made this Dance feel all the more pathetic and useless!

DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round

(I mean, for crying out loud, folks, if endeared Grumpy Goodman’s face could not rescue this Dance from the depths of Cheesesville, was there ever really any hope for it in the first place??!)

Not to mention, Season 22’s Competing participant, Wanya Morris’, Dancing was only “Pleasing”, albeit Fun, to say the very most, while recent Rising Dancing-Force, Ginger Zee, sadly lapsed back into her Performing “Comfort-zone” consisting of apathetic, Lazy Lines, halfhearted Charisma,  and an overall Shoddy Execution!

DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round

… Simply dreadful.

Team Carrie Ann:

Dancing the Paso Double to “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Lorde, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba’s Dancing Duos Antonio & Sharna and Paige & Mark closed down Week 08’s Competition.

DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round

An admittedly Emoting Performance overall, Carrie Ann’s contemporary take on this typically exhilarating Latin Style of Dance was oddly ill-pleasing in most stages of the Routine, as her Artistic Choreography (“Artistic”, a word that often stands for “Unique”) effectively had its participants stomping about the ballroom like slender, Taupe-clad (Ugh! Raise your hands if you’re positively DISGUSTED with the non-color of Taupe; stop embarrassing yourself if you’re not) Gorillas instead of refined, Quarterfinals Competitors!

DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round

Even Season Front-runner, Paige VanZant , was uncharacteristically Heavy in her Feet and Lines!

Not to mention, the seemingly evasive – and yet, somehow, still completely necessary – element of all Four of the Dance's participants Performing In Sync with one another throughout the whole of the Routine proved a task much (much) too hard to accomplish!

DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round

It must be said, however, before wrapping up this Post, that Antonio's Spinning Lift of Paige was a little more than impressive, to say the least!

Still, in the end, I found this (what appeared to be) ill-conceived attempt at recreating her Season 20,  Noah & Sharna Paso to be a flailing one at best, as well as an empty one.

Wanya & Lindsay – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 08

DWTS Season 22, Week 08

REVIEW:  Wanya & Lindsay

Performing a wild, wild, West-of-a-Jive to “Can You Do This” by Aloe Blacc, Wanya Morris and his Pro Pardner, Lindsay Arnold, presented their Quarterfinals Dance.

Well, hey-howdy, and if this don’t beat all, I LOVED this Performance!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 08

A more Rough than Rowdy Number overall, this Routine which was chocked-full of Rhythm, Cowboy-Antics, and Western Fun would seem simply impossible to resist in the way of scoring all “10”s from the show's Judges Panel, with its obvious charm and appeal, were it not for the tragically Faulty Execution of Wanya when it came down to the Routine's actual, Technical Dance Steps!

A more or less miserable display of Kicks and Flicks sadly reigned supreme within this Jive, as did a once again sub-par Framing, two unfortunate and yet inarguable Flaws that - when paired with the unforeseeable Tripping and subsequent Loss of Footing and then Timing by Wanya - proved enough to earn this dance a pair of meager “8”s and one “9” from the Judges.

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 08

Still, despite these awful visuals and resulting scoring afflictions, the sheer Showmanship and ever-delighting, Wonderful Musicality exhibited by Wanya within this Dance was 100% “10”-worthy, marking THIS “Yee-haw!”-inspiring Performance as one of the more Entertaining endeavors of the entire evening!

Wanya & Lindsay – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 07

DWTS Season 22, Week 07

REVIEW: Wanya & Lindsay

Dancing a positively ADORABLE Foxtrot to “I Say a Little Prayer For You” by Aretha Franklin, Boys II Men Singer, Wanya Morris, and his Professional partner, Lindsay Arnold, presented their Week 07 Routine!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night

A no less than Charming Performance, this next Dance by TeamYayZee was a wonderfully delightful affair with its Too-Cute Concept (Great job, Lindsay!), its Refreshingly Light and Romantic Choreography (You’re killing it, Arnold!!), and its Smooth and Easy Execution by Wanya!!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night

Granted, the Routine wasn't exactly “Flawless”, per say, with a non-Perfect Frame having been occasionally displayed by Morris when dancing - Ugh!  C'mon, Wanya, this “only means heartbreak for me”, you’re sooo CLOSE to an “All 10”s Perfect Score”!!  Yet still it was, most certainly, 100% Enchanting; and, in the end, I’d even go as far to say a STELLAR Exhibition all in all!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night

“I thought it was full of Whimsy
and Joy!” observed Head Judge, Len Goodman, following the Performance.  “It was a Joyful Performance … You lost your Neck during parts of it … but, the overall Feeling is one of Joyfulness, so well done!”

Wanya & Lindsay Are The High-Scorers! – DWTS S22, Wk06

Wanya and Lindsay Top DWTS'

Leader Board Once More!!

Dancing a Jazz Number to "Bye Bye Bye" by NSYNC, Boyz II Men Singer, Wanya Morris, and his Professional partner, Lindsay Arnold, presented their Famous Dances Night Routine, earning them the highest Judges Score of the night (and the highest Score awarded so far, within this Season!) of 10,9,10!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night

SUCH a great Performance!

Wave "Bye, bye, bye!", I guess, to last Week's shoddy Execution, Wanya came out on Monday and proved that he still reigns as one of the Season's best!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night

Great Rhythm, Terrific Footwork, and certain Moments of WONDERFUL, well, In-Syncness  all came together for Wanya during this Routine, gaining him the Season's first "10"s from Panel Judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night

Now, in all fairness, I do feel that I should say that I found the aforementioned "10"s to be a little undeserved, with a poor showing of <Ahem!> 'N Sync-ability having been displayed at the beginning of the Dance during the "Head" Piece, and a generally apathetic-seeming approach to this Performance
overall, ESPECIALLY when compared to the Dance's Back-up Troupe Dancers; but otherwise, a simply delightful showing!  Well done, Wanya!
