Wanya & Lindsay – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 08

DWTS Season 22, Week 08

REVIEW:  Wanya & Lindsay

Performing a wild, wild, West-of-a-Jive to “Can You Do This” by Aloe Blacc, Wanya Morris and his Pro Pardner, Lindsay Arnold, presented their Quarterfinals Dance.

Well, hey-howdy, and if this don’t beat all, I LOVED this Performance!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 08

A more Rough than Rowdy Number overall, this Routine which was chocked-full of Rhythm, Cowboy-Antics, and Western Fun would seem simply impossible to resist in the way of scoring all “10”s from the show's Judges Panel, with its obvious charm and appeal, were it not for the tragically Faulty Execution of Wanya when it came down to the Routine's actual, Technical Dance Steps!

A more or less miserable display of Kicks and Flicks sadly reigned supreme within this Jive, as did a once again sub-par Framing, two unfortunate and yet inarguable Flaws that - when paired with the unforeseeable Tripping and subsequent Loss of Footing and then Timing by Wanya - proved enough to earn this dance a pair of meager “8”s and one “9” from the Judges.

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 08

Still, despite these awful visuals and resulting scoring afflictions, the sheer Showmanship and ever-delighting, Wonderful Musicality exhibited by Wanya within this Dance was 100% “10”-worthy, marking THIS “Yee-haw!”-inspiring Performance as one of the more Entertaining endeavors of the entire evening!

Wanya & Lindsay – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 07

DWTS Season 22, Week 07

REVIEW: Wanya & Lindsay

Dancing a positively ADORABLE Foxtrot to “I Say a Little Prayer For You” by Aretha Franklin, Boys II Men Singer, Wanya Morris, and his Professional partner, Lindsay Arnold, presented their Week 07 Routine!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night

A no less than Charming Performance, this next Dance by TeamYayZee was a wonderfully delightful affair with its Too-Cute Concept (Great job, Lindsay!), its Refreshingly Light and Romantic Choreography (You’re killing it, Arnold!!), and its Smooth and Easy Execution by Wanya!!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night

Granted, the Routine wasn't exactly “Flawless”, per say, with a non-Perfect Frame having been occasionally displayed by Morris when dancing - Ugh!  C'mon, Wanya, this “only means heartbreak for me”, you’re sooo CLOSE to an “All 10”s Perfect Score”!!  Yet still it was, most certainly, 100% Enchanting; and, in the end, I’d even go as far to say a STELLAR Exhibition all in all!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night

“I thought it was full of Whimsy
and Joy!” observed Head Judge, Len Goodman, following the Performance.  “It was a Joyful Performance … You lost your Neck during parts of it … but, the overall Feeling is one of Joyfulness, so well done!”

Wanya & Lindsay Are The High-Scorers! – DWTS S22, Wk06

Wanya and Lindsay Top DWTS'

Leader Board Once More!!

Dancing a Jazz Number to "Bye Bye Bye" by NSYNC, Boyz II Men Singer, Wanya Morris, and his Professional partner, Lindsay Arnold, presented their Famous Dances Night Routine, earning them the highest Judges Score of the night (and the highest Score awarded so far, within this Season!) of 10,9,10!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night

SUCH a great Performance!

Wave "Bye, bye, bye!", I guess, to last Week's shoddy Execution, Wanya came out on Monday and proved that he still reigns as one of the Season's best!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night

Great Rhythm, Terrific Footwork, and certain Moments of WONDERFUL, well, In-Syncness  all came together for Wanya during this Routine, gaining him the Season's first "10"s from Panel Judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night

Now, in all fairness, I do feel that I should say that I found the aforementioned "10"s to be a little undeserved, with a poor showing of <Ahem!> 'N Sync-ability having been displayed at the beginning of the Dance during the "Head" Piece, and a generally apathetic-seeming approach to this Performance
overall, ESPECIALLY when compared to the Dance's Back-up Troupe Dancers; but otherwise, a simply delightful showing!  Well done, Wanya!

Wanya & Witney – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 05

DWTS Season 22, Week 05

REVIEW: Wanya & Witney

Dancing a But-you-just-don’t-understand,-Witney,-I-already-know-what-I’m-doing!-Tango to “Hold back the River” by James Bay, it’s “Wannabe Wanya” Morris and his INCREDIBLY-patient Dancing partner, Witney Carson.

Wanya & Witney
DWTS Season 22, Week 05
- Switch-up Week

“The ‘Switch Up’ kinda sucks, in my opinion!” stated Mirror Ball Champion Pro, Witney, in hers and Wanya’s Week 05 pre-Dance Rehearsal Package; AND, given the state of Wanya-things, I can’t say that I blame her!

(Seriously, Wanya, could you be any more full of yourself?)

Performing his worst and (Oh shucks, folks, let’s just say it!) most depressing dance to date while on this show  (C’MON, it should have been like watching “Alfonso & Witney:  Part Two”, right???) Wanya had apparently (in my opinion) decided on this, the 5th Week of Season 22’s Competition, that he no longer needed ANY Instruction within the Art of Dance, as he already knows, understands, and can easily (with the absolute MINIMAL amount of effort required) Execute any and all of the Tango’s Steps and Positions!

… Too bad all of that “Inherent Knowledge” didn’t pay off for him in the end; however, as his Sloppy Footwork, Deplorably Unhinged Frame, and Dead-Pan Facial Expression exhibited while performing this typically fiercely passionate Dance!

Wanya & Witney
DWTS Season 22, Week 05
- Switch-up Week

“When you say ‘Ronde’, I’m thinking I’m supposed to ‘Ronde’.  Don’t do that no more, alright?!” Wanya reproved Witney with during their Week 05 Rehearsals together, also declaring at Witney when she tried improving some of the Steps in the Tango’s Choreography: “NO!  No, no, no, no!  … Here we go, we’re not doing that!  I can get it!”

(Um, yes, well, not to interrupt or insult all the “Dancing Awesomeness” that apparently oozes from Wanya’s every Piss-soaked Facial Pore - Seriously, Did anyone else catch that more-than-disturbing revelation from Wanya about himself during Monday night’s show?? - But, I have a question that I just wanted to insert here …

What the heck is the matter with you, Wanya?!

“The most challenging thing about Switch Up is getting to know the new way of teaching,” Wanya also remarked during his pre-Dance Package … Okay!  Duly and (I guess!) sympathetically noted; so, ... what, then?  You just decided that you weren’t going to listen AT ALL??!

“You gotta do it faster than that, Sweetheart!”,  an aggravated-sounding Wanya also corrected Witney during his Rehearsal Package.

Um, ... No, ... that’s where you’ve got it wrong, “Wanya”, you should be grateful to Witney who played every bit the part of a TRUE Professional, and sweetly graced you with her IMMENSE Talent and Efforts, regardless of your Verbal Batterings, Choreographing one Stupendous Tango!

“… You know, for you [Wanya], it’s been like a trip on the River,” Head Judge, Len Goodman, stated following Wanya’s Terrible Tango-ing Performance. “You’ve just cruised along, without a care in the world!  Well, tonight you hit Turbulent Waters, my friend; because, for me … it was hectic, and [with] too many moving parts!  This <Positioning his Upper Body into a Perfect Frame> has got to stay calm!  THIS is in one piece, stays calm, doesn’t move!  It was too much going on …”

“So, I feel like you’re that Couple that has so many Great Expectations,”
observed Guest Judge, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, “You know, because of all the Performances you’ve done in the past … this is Week 05 and you’ve [addressing Wanya directly] had amazing Numbers that you’ve already pulled out; and, uh, we expected better!  You know, I agree with Len:  Tango is all about NOTHING moving on Top [and] everything happening on the Bottom.  There was a lot of moving parts … You know, we always talk about ‘Frame’ being the hardest thing to do; and, uh, it felt like it was a little, you know, ‘Falling Apart’!  …”

“Falling Apart” indeed, as Wanya (and yes, poor Witney too!) went on to receive some of the Night’s lowest Scored Marks.

… And it's aaallll because of you, Wanya!

Don't worry, Wit. You're choreography was, once again, stellar!  Come back next week and kick some @$$ with Von!

Wanya & Lindsay – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 04

DWTS Season 22, Week 04

REVIEW: Wanya & Lindsay

Ladies and Gentlemen, dancing a positively Pur-r-r-r-r-fect Samba to “Circle of Life” from The Lion King, Boyz II Men Singer, Wanya Morris, and his Professional dancing partner, Lindsay Arnold, submitted their Disney Routine!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 04
Disney Night

Talk about your Rip-ROARING Routines, I absolutely LOVED this Dance!

Exhibiting a no less than kingly Performance, Wanya  just simply came out on Monday night’s Dance Floor and completely KILLED it!!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 04
Disney Night

(“Mufasa!”   “<Shudder> Ooooo!!  … Do it again!”)

[For those of you who didn’t quite get that, shame on you …]

A Powerful Frame, Fierce Rhythm, Spot-on Footwork, and one truly exhilaratingly FEROCIOUS Attitude all came together for the exemplary Competitor that is Wanya on Disney Night, producing what was most certainly his GREATEST Dance of the Season thus far!  … And, believe you me, dwtslovers, that when it comes to this particular King of the Ballroom (Get it?) that is saying a whole lot!!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 04
Disney Night

Presented to us, for our viewing pleasure, by what was some of the BEST Choreography to have ever been exhibited on a Disney Night (Wonderful Job, Lindsay!!), the immaculate Dancing that was displayed by Wanya within the Glitter Dome went on to very easily and naturally receive a just scoring of all 10’s … <Record Scratch> …Wait, WHAT?!  … Only “9”’s??  SERIOUSLY?!  Have you Judges just totally lost your minds, or something??  That’s friggin’ CRAZY!!

Wanya & Lindsay
DWTS Season 22, Week 04
Disney Night

(“There’s one on every” Judging Panel, I guess!  … There’s at least TWO on DWTS’ …)

“I loved seeing this side of you [Wanya],” expressed an un-amused Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, when critiquing the Performance, “this ‘Primal’, ‘Powerful’ side; but, what I think is that you over-danced it a little in the beginning, and you lost control of it <Interrupted by loud, vehement Booing from the show’s live Audience>  He’s nodding, people! [Referring to the emphatic nodding being displayed by Wanya during her reproof]  You lost control of it, and you were a bit out of step in the beginning!  … I love seeing this side [of you, Wanya], I want more of that, but I want it to work!”

… You want it to work?

 …You want it to WORK??

 …You want it to WORK?!

You want WHAT to work, Carrie Ann?!!

Excuse me, but, speaking for the rest of this Samba’s viewers who DIDN’T seemingly pop a bunch of Stupid Pills before Monday night’s show, Wanya was just “work”-ing it, ALL OVER THE DANCE FLOOR!!

I mean, good grief, Inaba, did you even see the TREMENDOUS Dancing that just took Place, RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU?!!  PERFECT Frame, PERFECT Lines, PERFECT Musicality, PERFECT, kingly Character Portrayal, and on his toes THE WHOLE FREAKING TIME … Honestly, Carrie Ann “Insane”, how much more “work”-ing could you possibly want?!!!

For crying (or, “roaring”, I guess) out loud, I seriously doubt that, even in your “Hey-Day”, you could have done any better yourself!
… And, what’s worse, I think you may know this, Carrie Ann …  (Have you just COMPLETELY lost it??  ‘Cause we want YOU to work again!)

Oh, OH!  And poor Wanya was “nodding”, Carrie Ann, because he is (in my opinion) just not the sort to question someone who SHOULD “know best”!  … That is just part of the responsibility of being a Dance Judge, Inaba, and why stupid comments that are seemingly born out of your own, personal, foul mood should never escape your lips when sitting behind the show’s Judges’ Desk … shame on you!

“… You know,” Head Judge Len Goodman observed of the Dance, “some people call it ‘Samba’, some people call it ‘Samba’, I call it ‘Fan-tas-tic’!”

… Thank you, Len, thank you.
