DWTS Elimination: Geraldo & Edyta – Season 22, Week 02

Geraldo Rivera and Edyta Sliwinska ELIMINATED

on Dancing With The Stars

So beloved Talk Show Host and Television Personality, Geraldo Rivera, will officially mark the very first Contestant to be sent away from Dancing With The Stars Season 22’s Ballroom, along with his professional dance partner, Returning Pro, Edyta Sliwinska, in tow.

Geraldo & Edyta

Eliminated,

DWTS Season 22, Week 02.

I must say, I’m very sorry to see Geraldo be the first to hang up his barely-scuffed Dance Shoes.

Personally, I’m of the (what I am sure must be) widely shared mindset that DWTS’ very own Doleful Dancing Despondent, Mischa Barton, should have been the first to go!

(After all, folks, and let’s face it … Does “Bitter Ballroom Blues” Barton even WANT to be here???  … I believe this particular situation would very easily qualify as one that is commonly referred to as, “A Mercy Killing”.)

Not that an ever-polite, sincere Class Act (of a “Don’t kid yourself”, bygone Era) such as Mr. Rivera would ever see it that way …

Upon being Eliminated, the always affable Geraldo noted that, despite having a beautiful, talented, and indeed WONDERFUL Partner such as Edyta, if he hadn’t been the first to receive the Ballroom’s Boot, he would have “demanded a recount”!

Well, if that doesn’t just about beat all, folks!  …
Geraldo Rivera, Waltzing away and Watering Up our eyes, all without hardly adding a scratch to the Glitter Dome’s Dance Floor!

It’s a TIE!! Paige & (Mark) Alan, and Wanya & Lindsay are the High-Scorers! – DWTS S22, Wk02

Ballroom Battles - #22-02:

The Night of the Two Salsas

It was a sultry night in the land of Ballroom.
A tangible, vibrant night full of exotic music and colorful fun when two spicy Salsas faced off against one another in a desperate struggle of tale-making proportions, each Dance vying for Ballroom’s ultimate honor and prize:  The Week’s highest score ...

Paige, and (Mark) Alan:

Paige & (Mark) Alan

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

Ladies and Gentlemen, EXPLODING onto the Ballroom’s Dance Floor with a no less than EPIC showing, it’s MMA’s Pint-sized Performing Phenomenon, Paige Vanzant, along with her fabulous Replacement Pro, Alan Bersten, dancing one truly Sensational Salsa to “Danza Kudro” by Don Omar, featuring Lucenzo!

Paige & Mark

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

A splendid array of color and zest, this exciting Routine supremely showcased Paige’s unique and (so far) PERFECT ability to combine her Powerful Speed and Agility with natural Ballroom Grace and Femininity!

Paige & (Mark) Alan

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

Incredible Rhythm, Stupendous Lines, Fast and Light Footwork, and one SERIOUSLY Impressive Lift all met together with some beautifully BRILLIANT Choreography (Well done, Mark!) during this Number, as it brought the house down and tore up the Glitter Dome’s floor!

Paige & (Mark) Alan

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

I mean to say, Paige just absolutely BLEW ME AWAY with this magnificent (and even “Pro”-like) Performance, which unarguably reigned as one of the Night’s (and indeed the SEASON’s) best routines!!

Paige & (Mark) Alan

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

(And we simply must take a paragraphed parenthesis to talk about DWTS Troupe member, Alan Bersten, whose seemingly effortless and yet CRUCIAL stepping in for Mark Ballas as Paige’s Professional partner in the dance - with only 2 hours of Rehearsal time, according to Host Tom Bergeron -  helped to catapult this Routine to the remarkable, jaw-dropping Performance that it was!

… Quick!!  Somebody make this boy a full-time “Pro”, before it’s too late, and he tragically slips away like his former, fellow Troupe member, Brittany Cherry did!)

Paige & (Mark) Alan

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

“You destroyed that number, girl!” Panel Judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, praised, concerning this Dance while Head Judge, Len Goodman, concurred, “Well done to you, Allen … and well done to you, [Paige], for producing the best dance so far on Season 22!”

… Not to be outdone, however …

Wanya & Lindsay:

Wanya & Lindsay

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

Sailing (Or, “Salsa-ing”, in this case!) through Latin Night with the greatest of ease - and no small amount of Swag, - it’s Boyz II Men Singer and Monday night’s other half of its high-scoring Tie, Mr. Wanya Morris, along with his Professional dance partner, Lindsay Arnold, dancing yet another Sensational Salsa to “Echa Pa’lla (Manos Pa’rriba)” by Pitbull!

Wanya & Lindsay

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

Good grief!

(Okay, so, is anyone else out there getting some serious Season 19, Alfonso Ribierro Flashbacks???)

DWTS' Season 19 Mirror Ball Champions
Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson in
their (kick a$$!) Week 07 Salsa!

… I mean, WOW, but this guy can dance!!

Wanya & Lindsay

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

Wonderful Footwork, Terrific Movement and Lines, and a positively Delectable Sense of Rhythm and Musicality adorned the Glitter Dome’s center Dance Floor as Season 22’s Rapidly Rising star, Wanya, took the stage and stole the show!

Wanya & Lindsay

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

“It's a ‘Full Of' Dance!” exclaimed Head Judge, Len Goodman, upon viewing the splendiferous Performance, “Full of Energy, full of Excitement, full of Rhythm, and I’m full of praise!  Well done!”
Earning a more-than-well-deserved score of all 8’s from the show's Judges, Wanya's successful night was perfectly capped off by tying for 1^st Place at the top of Monday’s Leader Board, along with his fellow high-scoring hoofer, Paige Vanzant!

Von & Witney – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 02

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

REVIEW:  Von & Witney

Von & Witney

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

Dancing a Cha-Cha (“lite”) Routine to “Ain’t Too Cool” by LunchMoney Lewis, NFL’s reigning Super Bowl Champ and MVP, Von Miller, and his Professional Dancing partner, Witney Carson, submitted their Latin Night Performance.

Von & Witney

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

Well, to be honest (and as much as it GREATLY pains me to write it, being a huge fan of TeamBlondeMiller!), this next Dance, while full of fun and great to watch, was more of a “Ch …” than a “Cha-Cha”!

Von & Witney

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

Terrific Rhythm, Splendid Showmanship, and an undeniably Cool and Groovy Funk presided over this adorable Routine,

Von & Witney

DWTS Season 22, Week 02

and if “Swag” were a Ballroom Dance Style, it might have earned a much higher score of Judges points; but, alas! such is, of course, not the case … however unfortunate!

Now then, that noted, forgetting all the “Objective Pretense” and speaking just as a Fan for a minute here … That dance was EXCELLENT, and I LOVED it; so, good job, you guys, and keep it up!!

(… Just maybe throw a little bit more of “Ballroom” in there next time!)
