REVIEW: Carlos & Witney
Ladies and Gentlemen, doing the near impossible and performing on an amazing
level that is all their own, it's Carlos PenaVega and his ever
genius Professional partner, Witney Carson, dancing a Rumba to
“Pony” by Magic Mike.

begin to pull this off?!

When I, like everyone else I would imagine, heard that Carlos
& Witney had gotten the proverbial short end of the stick for
Famous Dances Night and had been <Ahem> saddled with this routine, I was,
very justifiably so, a little more than concerned!
Does anyone else out there know anything about this unimpressive dance
from the film?
No? Well, then allow me to fill
you in: It's incredibly BORING,
with a whole lotta nothings going on, and eventually capped off by a whole
lotta crude.
And so, I couldn’t help but wonder during the week that led up to this
performance, how was poor Witney ever to make something DWTS/Rumba
worthy out of this dredge?!
Well, it gives me to no small amount of pleasure to report that, while I
still couldn’t say HOW she got there, she pulled it off beautifully!!

This dance with it's cool and edgy Choreography, killer Steps and Moves,
and terrific Moments (I particularly enjoyed the “Walk Backwards” … nice touch,
Wit!!) turned out to be – rather shockingly so – one of my
absolute favorites of the night!

And we cannot forget Carlos, who, with his perfectly
in-sync Movement, his expert Musicality and Rhythm, and his exhilarating
Showmanship positively MADE this dance!

What could Judge Julianne Hough and Guest Judge Olivia
Newton-John have been thinking, giving those messed up scores?!!
What could have POSSIBLY been deemed as “lacking” from this
routine?!!

The show just totally handed Carlos & Witney this no-win situation; and they took it and completely kicked some Ballroom @$$!!
