DWTS Season 20, Week 05
REVIEW: Robert & Kym
Robert & Kym:
Robert Herjavec and professional dancing
partner, Kym Johnson, danced a Quickstep to "Step in
Time", from Mary Poppins for their Disney Night routine.
Well, I really like Robert & Kym, a lot; and
so, it pains me to do this; but, I'm not going to sugar-coat it (not even to help
the medicine go down!) ... this dance was awful!

I was afraid this might happen ... Robert has come out
every week and delighted us all with basically the same dance every week; (C'mon, you would hardly be able to tell them apart, were it not for the change
of costume ... ) but, unfortunately, Monday night's Quickstep showcased Robert's
true lack of dancing depth.
His "step"ing was so not "in
time", and his obvious struggle to keep up with the song of the dance was
as uncomfortable to watch as it was to dance, judging from the look of dumbfounded confusion that kept washing over poor Robert's face!

But, in all fairness, I should point out that as bad as
Robert's dancing was, it was not nearly as bad as that of his partner in
dancing-crime, Kym Johnson, who looked very much the amateur next to her
celebrity, and whose drag-gy, spastic, and unimaginative choreography would have
brought any lover of laughter down from the ceiling in disappointment!

And what was with that wildly inappropriate, see-through
dress she was wearing? When Robert called her a "sexy" Mary
Poppins on their rehearsal package, we didn't think he meant it literally!
She does know she is portraying Mary Poppins, right?

I did appreciate, however, the way that Robert
threw himself full steam ahead into this routine; and, I sincerely hope he will
improve by next week!
