Peta Murgatroyd INJURED on
Crest of DWTS’ 21st Season!!!
Dancing With The Stars Professional, Peta Murgatroyd, shocked Fans yesterday with the announcement of some (Seriously!) “heartbreaking” news: The beloved Cast member of 3½ years and Mirror ball Champion is officially bowing out of Season 21!
According to People magazine, Peta “felt great” when beginning her rehearsals with Celebrity partner, Andy Grammer, (<Clicking tongue dismally> Wouldn’t they have been such a great pair?!), but soon discovered whilst donning a pair of heels that “something was not right.”
An MRI soon followed, and the subsequent results contained news that was “devastating”. “I wanted to check it out properly and make sure I was good to go for the season,” explained Murgatroyd, “I got my MRI results back and it was a really bad diagnosis. It showed I had 4 torn ligaments and a floating piece of bone at the back of my ankle.” Yikes! Wow, Peta, when you get injured you sure don’t mess around, do you?!
“My doctor said I needed surgery” Peta continued, “and I knew I needed to put my health first if I want to keep dancing on the show into my 30’s.”
Said to be sidelined for 6-8 weeks following her surgery, bowing out of DWTS’ 21st Season (set to Premiere in 2 Weeks on September 14th, 2015) cannot have been an easy pill to swallow for the 29-year-old Dancer; however, Peta revealed that the real kicker was breaking the depressing news to her latest amateur dance partner, Andy Grammer. “It was awful telling Andy.” admitted the crestfallen Dance Instructor, before further explaining, “He had specifically asked to be partnered with me and I felt like I was letting him down,”
Still, disappointed as Grammer may be, no one can accuse the famed Pop-rock Singer of not being a good sport: “But he understood” says Peta, “and has been a great guy about it.”
With surgery set by her orthopedic surgeon for mid-September, Peta is already looking ahead to better days! “I’m just looking forward to being back on my feet as soon as possible and being a part of the show again,” Murgatroyd hopefully expressed, “I’m so in love with the show and I’m a very competitive person. It’s really sad. It’s super frustrating but I’m going to [be] fine and I’m going to be back in week eight or nine of the show.”
Despite Peta’s early exit, it would seem that Andy Grammer has every intention of maintaining the friendship that had already begun to bud; “He told me, ‘This week, can you and [boyfriend Maks Chmerkovskiy] and my wife and I go out to dinner? Let’s just hang out and be cool friends,” …. Alright, come on then, everyone, and say it with me (‘cause you know you want to!): Awwww!!
A touched Peta would agree, it seems, as she added, “That was nice. I appreciated that.”
