For their Week 07 routine, Alek Skarlatos and his Professional partner, Lindsay Arnold, danced a lovely Viennese Waltz to “Haunted” by Beyonce.

And - contrary to the judges’ comments when critiquing this performance - COMPLETELY in keeping with Alek’s typically-excellent Frame in Hold!

Alek has always had great Frame AND the unique-and-rarely-seen Male Celebrity ability to actually Lead the dance, so I simply do not understand why all of the judges acted as though his Monday night routine was some kind of new achievement.

Now, Alek did soar to all-new, dancing heights on Monday, in that the Grace, Musicality, Fluidity, and Elegance displayed by Alek in this Waltz rated a whole other level of “stellar”; but, as to Leading the dance and keeping an impeccable Frame whilst doing so, he didn’t need Artem Chigvintsev’s help ... that’s just Alek being Alek!  Honestly, judges, what HAVE you been watching?!

In closing, this dance … no ... this exquisite Viennese Waltz deserved all 10’s, not two 8’s and a 9 … <Cradling head in hands> Can you please get your act together, guys!
