Quick Info re: DWTS, Season 20 Cast

A Quick Introduction to our DWTS, Season 20 Cast

DWTS S20 Cast - GMA Reveal, Feb 2015

Artem & Patti
First up, we have Patti LaBelle and her Professional dancing partner,  Artem Chigvintsev:  According to Wikipedia, Patti LaBelle, a two-time Emmy nominee and a two-time Grammy winner, has been a part of music for over 50 years, and joins the cast as the oldest celebrity participating in this season.

Patti has actually worn a few caps (talent-wise) during her career including those of Singer, Song-writer and Actress.
While the head singer of her 1970’s group, LaBelle, Patti LaBelle released the (still) famous disco song “Lady Marmalade”, a hit which was eventually inducted into The Grammy Hall of Fame!

Artem was a nice choice for her Pro and I’m excited to see how far this pair will go!

Keo & Charlotte
Charlotte McKinney and Keo Motsepe:  I’m so glad Keo is going to make it back; and, I think Charlotte McKinney, a Model/Actress  (known recently for appearing in what’s been called a “controversial ad” - I haven’t seen it myself ) makes for a fantastic choice to be his celebrity partner!

Keo seems excited about his new partner and she seemed pretty excited herself!

I’m interested to see how she does because she’s obviously very pretty and, in the brief moments of her introduction on GMA, she seemed friendly and nice.

Sharna & Noah
Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess:  Sergeant Noah Galloway is a war veteran who fought in Iraq.  According to abc.go.com, he is from Birmingham, Alabama and he was assigned to the 1st of the 502nd Infantry of the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  When,  “Just three months into his second tour of duty, he experienced a life changing injury. On December 19, 2005, Galloway lost his left arm above the elbow and left leg above the knee in an Improvised Explosive Device attack.

Sharna was a excellent choice for his Professional dancing partner; and, if history is any indication of the great achievements of those physically-challenged yet courageous dancers who dared to brave the arduous DWTS competition, I think these two will do very well for themselves!  We all remember, after all, how incredible Amy Purdy (another double amputee) was when she was partnered with Derek Hough for season 18 she made it to first runner-up!  And who could forget mirror-ball winner J. R. Martinez (Another Iraqi War veteran) who was partnered with Karina Smirnoff for season 13 and won!!

Well, I guess well just have to wait and see!

Allison & Riker
Riker Lynch and Allison Holker:  Riker Lynch is one of the lead singers and bassist for the Pop-rock band R5. His brother and fellow band mate, Ross Lynch, was the star of Disneys Teen Beach Movie.

R5 also includes Rikers other brother, Rocky Lynch, his sister, Rydel Lynch, and family friend, Ellington Ratliff.

In addition, Riker is Derek and Julianne Houghs cousin.

Peta & Michael
Michael Sam and (the ever enjoyable) Peta Murgatroyd: Michael Sam is an ex-NFL player*

(*Though only briefly, missing the final cut with both the Rams and the Cowboys in 2014).

Mark & Willow
Willow Shields and her Professional dancing partner, Mark Ballas:  Willow Shields is a actress that is probably best known for playing the part of Primrose Everdeen in the movie series, The Hunger Games.

Having yet to dance on Dancing with the Stars, season 20, Willow has already made her mark on DWTS history by being the youngest celebrity ever to compete on the show at 14 years old. According to Wikipedia, the celebrity to previously hold the title of youngest competitor was season 16 first-runner up, Zendaya Coleman who competed whilst she was 16 years old.

And who better, to help Willow make a grab for that mirror-ball than season 19s First runner up, along with 17-year-old Sadie Robertson,  Mark Ballas?  Mark is a two-time mirror-ball champion

after all; and, Mark did win his 2nd mirror-ball with 17-year-old Olympic gold medalist Gymnast, Shawn Johnson!

Tony & Suzanne
Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani: Suzanne Somers is a actress who has played in several roles including ABCs sitcom, Threes Company. She is also known for being the Spokeswoman for the exerciser, The Thigh Master.

He did a great job last year in season 19 with
Betsey Johnson just as he has done every year!  Tony is a true pro and one of my favorites.  In my opinion, he is well chosen for her partner

Robert & Kym
Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson: Robert Herjavec is from ABCs reality competition TV series, Shark Tank, as one of the Panels four Shark investors; and, appropriately enough (considering he is a business investor), according to GMA, he is a Multi-millionaire nice going, Kym!

He doesnt really strike me personally as a dancer; but, ya' never know!

Either way, this should be interesting!

Emma & Redfoo
Redfoo and Emma Slater:  I think we probably all know Redfoo as being a singer, producer and rapper for LMFAO.  You may also recall his being a guest judge on DWTS, season 18 and I thought he did a (Surprisingly) great job!  This should be a real hoot (and a holler) for the showand what better way to shake things up for the 10th anniversary season of DWTS?

Im glad he got Emma because I think shell really be able to do a lot for him!

Val & Rumer 1
Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy:  Ahem Thatd be Rumer Willis, as in the actress and daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore Rumer Willis?  Yes, please!

Way to go Val! I think these two will do great together!

Val & Rumer 2

Derek & Nastia 1
ANNND last, but CERTAINLY, (not that Im playing favorites, or anything) not least, we have, Nastia Liukin and her partner, Derek Hough: Nastia is a Gold-Medal-winning Olympic Gymnast and the PERFECT pick for five-time mirror-ball trophy winner Derek Hough!

Could that be a sixth Mirror-ball on the way?  Maybe Derek could get his own Gold!

Derek & Nastia 2

What I do know is, I simply cannot wait for the 10th anniversary season to begin!!
