Kim & Sasha – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 04

DWTS Season 22, Week 04

REVIEW: Kim & Sasha

Dancing the Quickstep to “I Wanna Be Like You” from The Jungle Book, Kim Fields and her Professional partner, Sasha Farber, submitted their Disney Night Performance!

Disney Night

Portraying the non-existent role of Jungle Book “Tour Guides” (Seriously, I might almost say that “I wanna be like you”; but, I don’t even know who “You-hoo-oo” are!), Kim & Sasha absolutely killed this Routine!!

Full of fun and Jungle Rhythm, this dance proved Kim’s absolute BEST so far, as it supremely exhibited her natural panache for Performing Pizzazz, along with an equally present showcasing of her Great Frame, Wonderful Lines, and Terrific Musicality!

Likewise her Footwork, which, yes, granted, left a little something to be desired overall - displaying (what appeared to be) some heaviness and even a bit of “Lag” at different times during the Routine - showed a certain level of improvement throughout, as her quick-stepping Kicks and Antics brought about some truly exhilarating feats, all of which had been so neatly wrapped in the Perfect, Playful Packaging that is the increasing Brilliance of her partner, Sasha’s, Choreography!

“… I’m gonna call that ‘Zippity-Doo-Dah’!”  opened up Head Judge, Len Goodman, with the Judges' critiques, “Plenty of ‘Zip’ in the Performance, a bit of Doo-Dah on the Footwork; but, the bottom line:  It’s your best Dance so far!”

“… the Energy Level was excellent,” added Judge, Bruno Tonioli, exuberantly, allowing Judge Carrie Ann Inaba to conclude with, “... You two, your Partnership is just fantastic, you bring magic to every Dance you do because of the way you work together, the chemistry is outstanding, you make it look so easy!”

Marla & Tony – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 04

DWTS Season 22, Week 04

REVIEW:  Marla & Tony

The first Couple to dance for DWTS’ Week 04 festivities, Donald Trump Ex, Marla Maples, and her Professional Partner, Tony Dovolani, performed a Waltz to “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid.

Look at this Waltz, wasn’t it neat?  Wouldn’t you think that its Score would be sweet? … Given the fact that it was a Waltz – A Waltz that had EVERYTHING???

DWTS Season 22, Week 04
Disney Night

… A no less than enchanting dive “Under the Sea”, this beautifully executed Routine by Marla served as an absolutely PERFECT inclusion in DWTS’ always gratifying Disney Night, while also wonderfully showcasing Marla’s supreme and natural ability to be ever Graceful and Feminine within the Art of Dance!
I mean to say, WHAT a lovely showing!!

Marla & Tony
DWTS Season 22, Week 04
Disney Night

Fluid Lines, an Elegant Frame, and some very nice Lifts were brought gently to life on Monday night’s Dance Floor, thanks in part, of course, to Maples, and thanks still, in even greater part, to her Pro partner, Tony, whose emoting Choreographing of this staunchly Content-filled Waltz was key in the transformation of this already-endeared animated classic
into a positively <Ahem> SWIMMING Ballroom Performance (Oh, yes, I so went there!) !!

Disney Night

Nonetheless, and as much as it pains me to say it, the Choreography (Or perhaps it was merely Marla’s Dancing of it!), while certainly MORE than pleasing overall, did include what looked and felt like several disruptive “Pauses” within the otherwise Flowing Routine which, in turn, affected a rather “Bumpy” appearance at times.

Not to mention, Marla’s Footwork, while almost reaching the level of “Top-Notch”, still displayed a little bit of “Heaviness” and “Flatness” throughout.  … Perhaps Heels would have helped, Tony?

That said, it simply cannot be refuted that, in the end, and despite these visual afflictions, this dance had successfully remained a captivating-ly dainty and, and furthermore, delightful affair!

Disney Night

All “7”s, Judges?! … REALLY?!!  Not one of you could be bothered to throw up a well-earned “8” in there?!!!

And I must say, I think that I’m more disappointed in Head Judge Len Goodman than anyone whose casual dismissal of this “Strictly Waltz” Routine, as shown through his scoring of it, went starkly against his own previously made, approving observations that the Dance had included “Charm”, “Elegance”, and “Romance”!

Good night, Len!  While I more or less EXPECT a certain level of Idiocy and Vain Conceit to arise from the other Panel Judges, Carrie Ann and Bruno, and ESPECIALLY out of Guest Judge Zendaya (Who - “I’m not even gonna lie” - SUCKED all night long!), I usually expect much more from you, PARTICULARLY when it seems as though poor Tony had gone through such pains to make this Number purely “Waltz” for you, while still maintaining a good keeping with the evening’s Theme!

… Honestly, Can you guys, PLEASE, just pull it together?!

Hidden Hough Hoodwinks on DWTS’ Season 22, Week 03!

Derek Hough

Dancing With The Stars’ 6-time Mirror Ball Champion and Former Fan-Favorite Pro, Derek Hough, was recently spotted as having been in the Glitter Dome on last Monday - casually hidden backstage - behind all of the Ballroom’s glitz and glamour of its Season 22 installment of Most Memorable Year Night.

<Record Scratch> Wait, WHAT?!

Derek was in the Ballroom during Week 03 and NOBODY THOUGHT TO MAKE MENTION OF THIS FACT???!!

Seriously, you guys?

We, the Fans of the Show, have been horrifically Hough-less for WEEKS now and NO ONE thought to point a live, Television Camera in his direction when he was right there in the friggin’ building?!  … A courteously made mention might have even been nice, Tom or Erin; or an unobtrusive Vine Vid, Season 22 Celebrities, or PERHAPS A FREAKING SELFIE, his former fellow Pros, SOMETHING!!

Good grief!  And while I guess I’m glad that this enormous event in the world of DWTS may just be “No big whoop!” to all of the above, would any of them mind terribly if we, the Fans, got to enjoy this Record-winning Professional just showing up out of the blue on Monday, as well?!

(<Insert Hough-induced, woebegone sigh> I feel so cheated and disillusioned.)

Of course, a small mention was made (as if it would somehow make up for this lapse in Media), via one, DWTSdancingabc Instagram post, which included a Picture of the 30-year-old posing with Singer Andra Day - who was present on that night to perform 2 songs live for Doug & Karina’s Waltz and Jodie & Keo’s Foxtrot respectively - accompanied by the
brief Caption, “He’s back! Great seeing @derekhough and @andradaymusic backstage #DWTS #MemorableYear”

Derek Hough and Andra Day

Not to mention (and while this next point really does hurt to have to come to grips with), it is vaguely possible that Derek simply just didn’t want to be mentioned, opting instead to remain incognito and enjoy the night’s festivities without all of the frantic, Fan-enthused fuss that would presumably have sprung up as a result of his unannounced visit.

After all, the 2-time Emmy winning Choreographer has certainly seemed to have made it perfectly clear during some recently given Interviews that he is quite through (for now, at least) with all of the Ballroom’s lights, cameras, hype and headaches!

“Last season was such a great season [with Bindi Irwin],” Hough has remarked, according to glamour.com, “and I love her so much.  Going into last season, I felt that excitement.  This [time], I was like, ‘I just need to take the time to not just create a career, but to create a life.’  You know what I mean?  I needed time to do those things.”

“It’s important that I feel inspired and feel passionate about something,” the Dancer had also explained, regarding his decision to bow out of DWTS’ current Season, further disclosing (according to peoplestyle.com).  “I think I just always had the feeling of being inspired – I want to give all to whatever I’m doing.  I think I just needed a little bit of time to grow”.

And apparently, at least some of that growing does include little (and massive!) Career advancements as well as “life” ones, as the former Pro has and will be taking part in quite a few different Dancing and even Acting gigs, including (but certainly not limited to, if any one knows anything about the year by year, INSANE work schedules consistently kept by Hough in the past):   ABC’s Nashville and Jane the Virgin, a stint within the Hilton Hotel chain’s recent Advertising Campaign, and, of course, his up and coming starring role of Don Lockwood on Broadway’s Singing in the Rain in January of next year!

“It’s been great!” exclaimed Derek of his time spent working in other, multiple, Entertainment Venues, also adding, “And [I’m] also prepping for projects coming, there’s a lot of stuff happening so I’m going to get busy real busy again”.

Still, naturally - and despite all the above ongoing AND promised ‘projects’ - the one overall reigning question that still persists among the Fans of Hough (Myself included!) is that one, teeny, tiny, pestering one of Yes, yes, that’s all just fine, Derek, but just when are you waltzing your way back to DWTS
and … you ARE ‘waltzing’ back, right?! (… Derek?  Please?!!)

“Yeah, possibly,” Hough has shared, according to glamour.com, “I don’t know, we’ll see.”

<Popping Lips> You know, this isn’t funny, Derek!

 “I’m not exactly sure.”

OKAY!  <Throwing hands up in the air> Sheesh, we get it, alright?!  You may never return, blah-blah-blah, whatever! …It’s not like it’s a big deal or anything, we’re just curious, that’s all … <SNIFF!> Nope!  Nope, nope, nope! Noooo big deal …

“I’m sure I’ll do something on the show.”

Oh, ooo!  REALLY?!!  I mean, we wouldn’t wanna put you out, or anything; but, you know, Hey!  If you’re offering! …

Now, whether or not this last, entirely thrilling (Albeit, entirely vague!) comment is some kind of hint of exhilarating things to come within this current Season of DWTS, sadly, remains to be seen.  (S
till, it is better than nothing as, let’s face it, folks, we will take whatever we can get when it comes to “DWTS Derek”!)  But, for now, at least, it seems that these tantalizing taunts will have to suffice, as Hough has additionally voiced (according to peoplestyle.com), “I’m enjoying some time now to kind of – it’s one thing to build a career, but also building a life. I need to have that time.”

DWTS Elimination: Mischa & Artem – Season 22, Week 03

Mischa Barton and

Artem Chigvintsev

ELIMINATED

on Dancing With The Stars

Mischa Barton Eliminated on
DWTS Season 22, Week 03.

So DWTS and company officially waved (what sure seemed like) a grateful “Buh-Bye” to the Bitter Ballroom Blues on Monday, as the ever-morose Mischa Barton was Eliminated from the Dance Program.

Only 3 Weeks into the show’s newest Season and ALREADY a long time in coming, Mirthless Mischa leaves her mark on America’s beloved Glitter Dome as one of the saddest (in EVERY sense of the word!) Competitors to have ever (dis-) graced the Ballroom!

(<Shudder> I mean, “Sheesh!”, right?!  WHAT a Dancing Downer!!)

“It’s been a wonderful experience, it really has.” Barton commented during her Monday Night exit.

(REALLY??  It has???  ‘Cause for us, it’s been kinda horrible!)  Oh, let’s not kid ourselves, Mischa!  … You’ve (In my opinion) abhorred every moment and so have we.  … And, to hear to you complain about it, it’s ALL Artem’s fault …

 Good Riddance.
