DWTS - Fantasy Picks

DWTS - Fantasy Picks

As we wait for the highly anticipated DWTS Cast Announcement, I would like to take this time to run through some of my DWTS celebrity fantasies…that is, some celebrities I think would make EXCELLENT additions to the show (if only some DWTS producer would get a clue and invite them on!):

Celebrity Fantasy #1 - Zachary Levi:  The actor who played the title role in CBS’ “Chuck” (which remains the BEST show to ever grace network television..next to Dancing With The Stars, of course!) would be a natural on the Ballroom dance floor!

Zachary Levi in CBS' Chuck

Seriously, has anyone reading this blog ever seen “Chuck”? … Zachary would totally KILL the Ballroom dances…I can just picture him now, twirling about the floor with Witney, Sharna, Peta, or Emma!!

The Latin dances, I grant you, would have to remain to be seen…but as for the Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, etc…I’m just amazed no one has ever brought it up before!

Celebrity Fantasy #2 - Ariana Grande:  “Let me see you put your hearts up!”, that’s a great suggestion!

Dancing With The Stars Season 18!

Dancing With The Stars Season 18!

I mean, am I right or am I right?! Maybe if the DWTS producers would just hire me (just speaking in fun…I’m not actually seeking their employment) they might have “one less problem” to worry about! <LOL, wiping tear…sometimes I kill myself>.

Dancing With The Stars Season 18!

Celebrity Fantasy #3 - Zac Efron Or, for that matter, Vanessa Hudgens:  I really would like to see more actors from the “High School Musical” trilogy competing on DWTS!

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens in High School Musical 3

I mean, Hey…Monique Coleman did alright for herself dancing with Louis Van Amstel in season 3, and I think we all remember how fan-friggin’-tastic  Corbin Bleu was dancing with Karina Smirnoff in season 17! …still not sure I’m 100% happy with Amber and Derek winning over them that season, buttt…

Annnd, Celebrity Fantasy #4 - (And I know, the most far fetched ...but don’t ruin it for me!) Bruno Mars:

Can’t you just see it now? …Ooooo, oooo, ! Maybe even dancing with Witney Carson! … The other couples had just better “run, run, run away! Run away, baby!”.

Only Days Left Until the DWTS, Season 20 Cast Announcement!

Only Days Left Until the DWTS, Season 20 Cast Announcement!

It’s almost here, <shrieking inwardly with excitement!> the DWTS, season 20 Cast Announcement!! …All set to come out the 24TH  of this month on  GMA (Good Morning America)!

I can hardly wait for my absolute favorite television show to begin their latest (and very possibly, greatest!) season…the 10TH anniversary for the show!!! <Shrieking out loud now…don’t care who’s listening!>

Of course, there have been a LOT of rumors circulating concerning which celebrities are being signed up to participate in season 20 of Dancing With The Stars, including, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Roseanne Barr and, more recently, Jack Nicholson (!!  Wouldn’t that be a hoot?!).

DWTS Season 20 “Disney Night”?

DWTS Season 20 “Disney Night”?

Val & Danica McKellar - Beauty & the Beast Quick Step
So, I hear tell “Disney Night” is making a comeback for DWTS’ 10TH anniversary season!! And how appropriate, seeing as how Disney owns the ABC Channel…didn’t know that? Oh, Yes! Disney has their white-gloved-fingers in A LOT of entertainment pies!

Yaaay! I love, love, love all things Disney (Who doesn’t?)!! Well, most things Disney… I was none too happy with one of their recent musical attempts, “Into the Woods”…Yuck! ...but I digress.

I did, however, absolutely LOVE what DWTS did with Disney themes in season 18:
Amy and Derek (Amy Purdy and Derek Hough)’s Cinderella Waltz?  Sooo graceful, elegant and sweet!
And who wouldn’t love Meryl and Maks (Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy)’s Jungle Book Samba, or
Charlie and Sharna (Charlie White and Sharna Burgess)’s fantastic Mary Poppins Jazz routine?
I do know a few people (myself included) who were a little more than put out when Cody and Witney (Cody Simpson and Witney Carson) were given the boot following their adorable Lion King Samba (What were y’all thinking?!), but again, I digress!
And, of coarse, the “Wow! That was surprisingly awesome!” title would have to of gone to James and Peta (James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd)’s contemporary dance to “Let it go” from Disney’s “Frozen”!

Bottom Line: I’m super excited!!

Above video is James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd’s incredible contemporary to “Let it Go”, From the Disney movie, “Frozen” for DWTS’ season 18, week 5: Disney Night!

This next video (above) is Charlie White and Sharna Burgess’ contribution for DWTS season 18, Finale…their unforgettable Jazz to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Disney’s Mary Poppins! Of coarse, I would of loved to included a link of their original version of this dance from week 5: Disney Night but, alas! I could not find what would even be considered a half-way decent video…oh well!  There is, however, a fun, little, extra trivia nugget to be gathered from this particular (finale) version of Charlie and Sharna’s Jazz routine: Check out the part near the end of the dance where Charlie trades his cane for Sharna’s parasol, and the parasol becomes disconnected from its handle, sending the prop flying  from Charlie’s grasp and across the dance floor! It’s very possible that Charlie did this on purpose, as a comedic reference to the first time he and Sharna danced this Jazz, when poor Charlie accidentally dropped the parasol, thereby costing them a perfect score of 30 points from the judges! I did not (DO not) agree with the judges BTW…anyone can accidentally drop a prop! It’s how the competitor recovers that counts… and Gold-medal winning, Olympic figure-skater Charlie White never missed a beat!

LEN GOODMAN’S LAST SEASON?!?

LEN GOODMAN’S LAST SEASON?!?

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

Did anybody else hear the rumor that this is Len Goodman’s last season!
WHAT?!
For cryin’ out loud, guys, what are y'all trying to do?  Take away everything Good, man!?
...
Oh well we love ya', Lenny!

2 Spots TBA? Maybe 2 More Pros to Join!

2 Spots TBA?  Maybe 2 More Pros to Join!

So I just took what was yet another glance (actually what was more like another anxious glance…pathetic, isn’t it?) at the DWTS, season 20 Wikipedia site, and to my great delight, discovered that Dancing with the Stars has opened up 2 more “TBA” (“To Be Announced”) spots so that 2 more Pros can join the previously announced 10 Pros (scroll down to read about GMA’s 2/11/15 DWTS Pro Announcement) for season 20!! What positively fantastic news!! Maybe They’ll invite Keo Motsepe back on!

I had dared to hope Karina Smirnoff might make it back for the show’s 10TH anniversary season but apparently, according to Wetpaint.com, Karina’s long time rumored departure from DWTS became an official (unfortunate) fact when she herself announced it publicly on February,10TH…just one day before GMA’s February 11TH  Pro Announcement.

So…just want to pause here for a quick question…remaining completely objective…with no personal feelings involved…IS IT JUST ME, OR DOES IT SEEM AS THOUGH EVERY DWTS PRO ON THE PLANET JUST DOESN’T WHAT TO SHOW UP FOR THE FRIGGIN’ 10th ANNIVERSARY SEASON?!? Come ON, people!! First Cheryl, then Derek (Wait! <tearing up a little> I told myself I wasn’t going to cry…again...again.) and now Karina! It’s like some kind of horrible DWTS nightmare…

It’s okay though…no really…I can be big about this…I can! …I think.

But hey, let’s end on a happier note, Wikipedia also confirmed the judges for DWTS season 20: Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Julianne Hough; AND, Tom Bergeron will be returning as host (no word as to whether Erin Andrews will be returning as co-host yet).

<Whew!> What a relief! Especially concerning my personal favorite (well, everyone’s favorite), Head Judge Len Goodman! Although, I did hear on GMA (Good Morning America) that this is to be Len’s “last year” on the show. I…uh…there’s really no words for this one.

Oh! Actually, there is one word that comes to mind, WHY?!?

---------
P.S.
- I'll miss you, Karina!

GMA Pro Announcement:

Whoo-hoo!
I just saw GMA (Good Morning America)’s DWTS Pro announcement!
This announcement is always particularly exciting because, while there are certainly many different factors that make up the reasons why we all love Dancing with the Stars so much, the returning pros might just be the one we love most!

And so, Ladies and Gentlemen, without any further ado, I give you our Pros for Dancing With the Stars, 10TH anniversary season:

Up first, we have DWTS’ reigning mirror ball champion, Witney Carson: So incredibly excited that she’s coming back! Over the course of just 2 seasons as a Pro, she has cemented herself as one of my all time favorites!

Val (Valentin) Chmerkovskiy: I’m really glad he’s coming back! I must say I’ve grown quite fond of him over the years…he’s not his brother Maks (Maksim Chmerkovskiy)…but I must say I’ve grown quite fond of him! I wonder who the love of his life (err, I mean celebrity partner) will be this season? J

Emma Slater: I absolutely love her! Who wouldn’t? She’s so very nice! Hopefully, despite whatever two- left-footed partner she gets saddled with she will be able to go far this coming up season.

Tony Dovolani: Ah! Tony… very happy you’re going to make it this season… DWTS wouldn’t feel the same without you!

Allison Holker: ... <Crickets>…Nobody? Well, I understand…I’m not her biggest fan either!

Artem Chigvintsev: Heeey! Artem made the cut! I really like Artem a lot and I’m glad to hear he’s going to continue his Pro career on DWTS! At least this time around he doesn’t have to dance with the self-proclaimed cougar, Lea Thompson…<I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit!>

Peta Murgatroyd: I adore Peta, she’s defiantly a DWTS staple! She and Tommy Chong made the sweetest couple last season!

Mark Ballas: Yes! Now we are talking! I’ve always enjoyed Mark but this last season with Sadie Robertson had to have been his best one ever! It’s just too bad the judges never seemed to agree with me! L

Kym Johnson: Crikey! I cannot believe they wasted a spot on Kym Johnson! I mean, she’s nice and all, but I have to say, over the course of just one season I had grown FAR more attached to Keo Motsepe than I ever had to Kym during the course of her entire career on DWTS! Sorry Kym, but, didn’t you already have a job Down Under?

Annnd last, but certainly not least, we have… Sharna Burgess: Alright! Sharna’s terrific! Plus, it just wouldn’t be right to have Peta back on and not invite Sharna as well (and vice-versa), seeing as how the two are actually BFFs in real life (“For the last 10 years”, according to Sharna…Awww!)! Maybe this season they’ll give Sharna another Charlie White…because let’s face it folks, Tavis Smiley was a real dud!

So there they are, our DWTS: season 20 Pros!! J

…Still holding on to the hope that Derek might change his mind and come back! L

Derek Hough Leaving !?!

Derek Hough

What's with these awful rumors I've been hearing?!  Derek Hough is leaving Dancing With The Stars (the absolute best show on TV!) for Broadway (!!!) -- and right before the tenth anniversary of the show ?!?

Are you kidding me !?!

 Boo ... BOOooOOOooo Derek !!!

(Excuse me whilst I sob <sniff ... sniff> uncontrollably over my poor keyboard.)
...  ... <sniff> ...

<Clearing my throat ... wiping my eyes .... *sniff* ... composing myself>

I mean, I'm sure it's a wonderful opportunity and all <sigh>  - especially in terms of his choreographical career; but, C'mon, Derek!  Seriously, man, you're killing me here!

Bethany & Derek's Paso Doble - Dancing with the Stars

There are three people who make up the glue that holds the DWTS we know and love together:  Len Goodman (Don’t even get me started on the subject of His retirement from the show!),  Tom Bergeron and Derek (friggin’!) Hough! <wwwaaaaahh!!>

Oh Well, at least there’s still Val, Witney, Sharna, Peta, Tony, Mark and many other pros we all love and enjoy.

I’m just saying…”Shane! Shane! Come back Shane!”
