Florida native, Chandler Powell, boyfriend to Season 21 Sweetheart Bindi Irwin, is reportedly feeling somewhat slighted of late, with dating rumors increasingly mounting around what is clearly a tight bond between the avid animal lover and her Pro, Derek Hough.

“He says he can’t compete with guys like Derek.” An unnamed source recently revealed, according to dailymail.com.  “Poor Chandler is feeling very insecure … She [Bindi] tries to reassure him, but he’s convinced she’s going to dump him,”

Feeding into the Teen’s foreboding fears is most likely the additional talk that has long been enveloping DWTS’ Dynamite Duo concerning Bindi’s rumored consternation about the possibility of making what has certainly been a glamorous stay in Hollywood more permanent.

Still, despite their obvious chemistry on - and indeed, off - the Ballroom floor, it would seem that Powell has little to worry about when comes to his Bindi, who has referred to her partner Derek as “the greatest big brother I could ever ask for.”

The 17-year-old also revealed, via Social Media, additional feelings on the subject, when she publicly thanked her Dance Instructor for his ongoing love and friendship.

“Thank you so much for all of your support,” she began, addressing Derek directly, before continuing on to share, “No matter what happens @derekhough manages to make every day in the studio fun, … Even when I’m super tired he gives strength and encourages me … I promise to keep trying my hardest to truly help show the world what incredible dances you create.”

The Australian Teenager then took time out of what must be a rigorous rehearsal schedule to celebrate her Frustrated Floridian’s 19^th Birthday (on Nov. 14^th), by posting an endearing black and white picture of the couple embracing on Instagram,

accompanied by the following message:  “Happy birthday to a person who inspires me every day.  A soul who makes me smile no matter where I am in the world, despite any amount of distance, … Thank you for the endless hugs, late night conversations about life, holding my hand when a loud noise scares me and laughing along with all of my Bindi moments,” .

It has certainly been an emotional week for Down Under’s Bubbly Bindi, who celebrated her first Steve Irwin Day (Nov.15^th) on foreign soil, captioning an Instagram picture of the late Crocodile Hunter smiling and holding up a Goanna Lizard with the words, “The greatest dad on Earth,” .

Joining Bindi in her fond remembrance, the Cast of DWTS surprised the high-scoring Celebrity Dancer by donning the Irwins’ trademark Khaki-colored, Wildlife Warrior shirts on Sunday the 15^th.

“What was amazing was it was our very first Steve Irwin Day away from home and so the whole DWTS studio put on their khaki shirts,” a grateful Bindi shared, according to usmagazine.com. “… it meant the world,” she gushed.

Also joining in was, of course, Bindi’s Professional partner, 5-time Mirror Ball Champion Derek, who took to Instagram on the previous Saturday the 14^th to mark the Day’s overseas celebration in Australia.

“It’s officially #SteveIrwinDay in Austrailia,” the 30-year-old Dancer announced, alongside a photo of a young Bindi, sitting atop her beloved father’s shoulders, both holding young crocodiles.
