A Relationship-status Update

on Season 21’s Alek Skarlatos

and Emma Slater

Since first performing together in a Rumor-sparking, Romantic Rumba as part of Dancing With The Stars’ always-gratifying Week 05 Switch up Challenge in the show’s most recent dance-filled venture, Season 21,

it’s been no great secret that American Hero and Legion of Honor Recipient, Alek Skarlatos, has been head-over-heels smitten by his then Professional partner, Emma Slater.

No, really, Emma actually smote poor Alek smack dab on his beak with her elbow during their Rumba Dress Rehearsals!

“I really wanted to make my mark,” Slater has since quipped of the accident while Skarlatos, who wound up placing in an amazing Third Place overall at the conclusion of the competitive Season, doesn’t seem to mind a bit!

“I think that’s the most fun week I’ve had on the show yet.” He later observed of being temporarily partnered with Emma.

The going gossip is, of course, that these two have been crazy-mad for each other since their first Rehearsal; and ‘tis little wonder, what with Alek having been visibly beaming whenever Emma was around on the show and often making enamored remarks concerning the Pro Dancer’s physical beauty.

It probably didn’t help matters either, that the Couple publicly agreed to a Date, following their Week 05 performance!

“From the first day of rehearsal, we were really comfortable with each other” Emma dished, according to people.com, concerning the Duo’s passionate display on the Ballroom Dance Floor. “Some people just have that energy that you can have a laugh with straight away and just do normal stuff with.”

Much to the dismay of hopeful Fans everywhere, however, the promised “Date” has yet to take place; but, never ones to let an always thrilling Seasonal “Showmance” die quietly, the show’s undaunted viewers have since duly credited this unfortunate fairytale hiccup as being the result of a strenuous work schedule that no doubt reigns during the beloved program’s highly competitive atmosphere each and every Season.

Still, certain romantic outings have been hinted at when, upon being asked, the closely-watched pair described their ideal date to People, “I’ve got a truck and there are some mountains in Oregon,” began Skarlatos, who is a native of the Western State, “So we can go straight up into the mountains in the truck and look at the stars.”  Slater immediately agreed to the starlit suggestion with but one condition: There had to be some “Greek food” present, as well!

But alas! Such movie-quality Dates, or even a simple cup of coffee, have not been sighted by the Couple’s eagerly awaiting Fan-base, though with recent updates on the Alek and Emma’s upcoming, cross-country tour together, excited hopes remain supreme for the Duo’s apparently fabulous future together.

That’s right, dwtslovers, Season 21’s primly painted, romanticized vision of the “Hero and the Dancer” has been made complete, as the two presumed lovebirds are set to Tour America together as part of DWTS’ newest live tour production, Dancing With The Stars: Live! - Dance All Night Tour, set to premiere on Dec. 15th, 2015.

And hey, who knows?! Maybe their time spent on the road together will give the hard working pair a chance to work out some more of those Dating Details so that we the Fans will finally get a chance to see these two step out together!

Dancing With The Stars’ Seasonal, Sequined-filled, Spectacular Semifinals are set to return to the Ballroom once more, as the show’s Four remaining Couples are required to prepare not one, not two, but THREE assigned dance routines … YIKES!!

Following a typical Round of performing one unlearned dance each, every Couple will be competing in Season 21’s exciting Trio Round in which each Couple will pair up with one non-competing Pro or Troupe member to dance for a second time!

In addition, as a result of the upheaval that was the unexpected official Withdrawal of Tamar Braxton, a third Dance-Off Round has been inserted into the night’s already-thrilling, high-stepping line-up, with each ensuing Winner of the Dance-Offs being awarded with an (much needed!) extra 3 points, which will then be added to their night’s score!

With the show’s always-dreaded Elimination still in question, due to the peculiar, Withdrawal-induced circumstances of next Week’s Episode being the Season’s Semifinals, it’s sure to be an enthralling evening fans won’t soon forget, and the fun all kicks off Monday!!

Reveals Long-awaited Relationship

It’s no great secret:  Since first being temporarily paired together for Season 21’s Week 05 Switch Up Challenge, the beloved show’s seasonal Rumor Mill has been shamelessly churning with hungry gossip concerning the (more than) obvious sparks that ignited between DWTS Contestant and American Hero, Alek Skarlatos, and Pro Emma Slater!

The going Gossip included in the Merciless Malay was that Alek had actually, at one point or another, romantically invited Emma to the top of an Oregon Mountain to properly gaze at the night stars, and that the Professional Dancer had responded that she was game … as long as there was Greek Food!

(Alright, c’mon Ladies, go ahead and get it out of your systems, so that we can move on:  “Awwwww!”)

All well and good when it comes to catering to that seemingly inevitable (what Fans have affectionately dubbed as) “Showmance” Couple-craving that pops up with every Season; but, as is usual with this always welcomed initial excitement, that same ol’ annoying rub has once again reared its ugly head as the show’s Weeks have steadily progressed in the form of one unanimously-voiced question:  ARE THESE TWO DATING, OR WHAT???

“We didn’t go on a date yet,” Slater recently dished (According to wetpaint.com) when asked during GMA’s (Good Morning America’s) post Elimination interview with Hayes Grier, “We’ll see.” She teased.

Oh, Emma, Emma, Emma, have a heart; you’re killin’ us here!!

“I should,” she joked, “because I kind of broke his nose.” Emma is, of course, referring to when she had accidently (and, let’s face it, adorably!) elbowed the poor guy’s face during Week 05’s pre-dance Dress Rehearsals!

Weeeell, maybe not “should” but we the Fans would seem to agree that a Cup of Coffee might not be at all inappropriate! … Or go unappreciated … PLEEEASE?!

“We’re still close,” the Dance Instructor added, along with  “we’re still great friends.”

The Hero and the Dancer (by Dancing With The Stars) ... how sweet is that?!

Not to mention, Emma broke Alek's nose which - let's be real here - was unfortunate but completely endearing to the duo's whole “Couple” imagery!  (“All worth it!”, Alek would later point out with a mile-wide grin!)

I thought this routine was absolutely beautiful, and the seemingly-budding romance enveloping this performance only helped to make this dance one of my favorites of the Season thus far!

I now know what a pity it is that we, as fans of the show, have never had the pleasure of seeing Emma choreograph a Rumba since first participating as a Pro on Season 17! … I loved it!!

And what about Alek?!  Seriously, is there a Ballroom challenge that he cannot overcome without the seeming greatest of ease?!!

His Frame was excellent, his Lines strong, and his Musicality dead-on!

His Hip Rolls were, admittedly, a little stiff; but, in the end, it cannot be denied that this dance rated an EASY all-9's scoring!

SO WHAT WAS WITH ALL OF THE 7’S?!!!

Good grief, Judges, have you all gone mad?!

“… I do have to say, that it's okay to show that you enjoyed it,” cautioned Judge, Julianne Hough, when critiquing Alek's facial expressions in the dance (which, by the way, did not “express” so much as “scream” his obvious enjoyment …).  “… You’re this close,” she continued emphatically, “from going from here for me, to like there!”

“Well, part of his face was numbed by her elbow!” the ever-hilarious Host, Tom Bergeron, reminded her just before Guest Judge, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, piped up and admonished with, “… For me you are the Dark Horse of this competition, for sure! … you have great Lines, you're very sturdy, I feel like every girl feels very secure with you … you can let your emotion be part of the dance! …”

Uh, excuse me, his “emotion” was "enthralled" in this dance!  Honestly, guys, what have y'all even been looking at, because it could not have been this dance!

This performance was 100% stunning, captivating, and romantic; AND, it is you guys who are totally killing the mood here with your blatant stupidity! … “C’mon, let it go!  Just let it be! …”
