Dancing
With The Stars, Season 22 Celebrity, Jodie Sweetin, was formally
booted out of the Ballroom competition last Monday evening in a disappointing
Wrap up to the show's exciting Quarterfinals.
Unarguably one the Season's most consistent and
all-around better Performers right from the start, Jodie was able to conclude her Fantastic Weeks on the
program with the earning of her very first (and only this Seasons 3rd) Perfect Score of all “10”s from the show’s Panel Judges, landing her in an
exhilarating TIE for 1st Place at the Top of Week 08’s Leader Board,
and affording her that always gratifying result of being able to exit the DWTS Ballroom on her best-scored Dance
to date!
Jodie & Keo
Eliminated
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
“… I got to go out on all 10’s, that’s amazing!” the
Actress exclaimed following her Elimination, also noting that her time on the
show had enriched her life in more ways than one when she added, “… This has been an absolutely incredible
experience!… I’ve made some wonderful
friends!”
Introducing its first ever Judges Team Up Challenge
round of Competition, Dancing With The
Stars’ three, Panel Judges each chose 2 of the Season's 6 remaining Couples
to “Team Up” in a presumably exciting Dancing Quartet with unexpected results …
Team
Bruno:
Dancing the Argentine Tango to “Habanera” by Georges Bazet, DWTS Judge, Bruno Tonioli’s, selected Team of Jodie & Keo and Nyle
& Peta submitted their Team Up Performance.
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round
The better, in my opinion, of the three Team Up
routines, Team Bruno’s over
all execution of this difficult Latin Dance was surprisingly great for all the
individual parties involved.
Indeed, Jodie
Sweetin’s opening of the smooth and silky Number, with the three other
Dancing Professionals (including that of Pro, Peta Murgatrod), was exceptionally good, even byJodie’s own highly set and strictly
kept standards!
Granted, that there were one or two moments during the
Opening of the Dance, and again near the Close, when her Dancing Lines were not
quite Sharp, nor Fully Extended; but overall, I must say, a truly stellar
Performance!!
Likewise, Nyle
DiMarrco’s Strong yet Fluid Exhibition proved most excellent,
impressively holding his own when mercilessly stacked up against the Routine's
three other Male Professionals! All in all a most gratifying effort within this
novel Round, and most certainly the most successful!
Team
Len:
Dancing a Strangely Subpar Samba to “Jump in the
Line (Shake, Senora)” by Harry
Belafonte, Head Judge, Len Goodman’s, chosen Couples of Ginger & Val andWanya
& Lindsay presented their Team Up Routine.
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round
<Mouth gaping wide open in horrified, stunned disbelief> Oh, good grief! WHAT a disappointment!
(What is the world of Ballroom Dance coming too?!!)
Is it just me, or did DWTS Beloved – and highly respected – Len just tragically fail, and somewhat miserably at that???
This seemingly phoned-in, total child's play of a
Performance was upsetting and (dare I say?) IRRITATING, to say the least, as DWTS' no-fuss, no-muss Judge appeared
suddenly incompetent, Choreographing what was truly one of the absolute DUMBEST Dances witnessed in the show's
adored Ballroom - at least, that I can remember – in a long (LONG)
while!
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round
Honestly, Len,
just because you’re the Best in the Ballroom doesn’t mean that you don’t have to actually try … like, AT ALL!!
Even with Len making a brief - and completely UN-GRATIFYING - appearance near the end of this depressing and sickening
colorful array made this Dance feel all the more pathetic and useless!
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round
(I mean, for crying out loud, folks, if endeared Grumpy Goodman’s face could not
rescue this Dance from the depths of Cheesesville, was there ever really any
hope for it in the first place??!)
Not to mention, Season 22’s Competing participant, Wanya Morris’, Dancing was only
“Pleasing”, albeit Fun, to say the very most, while recent Rising
Dancing-Force, Ginger Zee, sadly lapsed back into her Performing “Comfort-zone” consisting of
apathetic, Lazy Lines, halfhearted Charisma, and an overall Shoddy Execution!
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round
… Simply dreadful.
Team
Carrie Ann:
Dancing the Paso Double to “Everybody Wants to Rule
the World” by Lorde, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba’s Dancing Duos Antonio & Sharna and Paige & Mark closed down
Week 08’s Competition.
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round
An admittedly Emoting Performance overall, Carrie Ann’s contemporary take on this typically exhilarating Latin Style of Dance was oddly ill-pleasing in most stages of the Routine, as her Artistic Choreography (“Artistic”, a word that often stands for “Unique”) effectively had its participants stomping about the ballroom like slender, Taupe-clad (Ugh! Raise your hands if you’re positively DISGUSTED with the non-color of Taupe; stop embarrassing yourself if you’re not) Gorillas instead of refined, Quarterfinals Competitors!
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round
Even Season Front-runner, Paige VanZant , was uncharacteristically Heavy in her Feet and Lines!
Not to mention, the seemingly evasive – and yet,
somehow, still completely necessary – element of all Four of the Dance's
participants Performing In Sync with one another throughout the whole of the
Routine proved a task much (much)too
hard to accomplish!
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
- Judges Team Up Challenge Round
It must be said, however, before wrapping up this
Post, that Antonio's Spinning
Lift of Paigewas a
little more than impressive, to say the least!
Still, in the end, I found this (what appeared
to be) ill-conceived attempt at recreating her Season 20, Noah & Sharna
Paso to be a flailing one at best, as well as an empty one.

Ladies and Gentlemen, taking home the 3rd
and 4th Perfect Scores of Season 22, it's the Ballroom’s Break-out
Competitor, Zee, and
Top-of-the-Leader Board newcomer, Sweetin,
closing out Week 08’s Quarterfinals competition with an overall total of 59
Points out of 60 from the show's Panel Judges, for Round 01 and 02 of the
evening!
Ginger
& Val:
Dancing a too-good-to-be-true Argentine Tango to
“Telephone” by Martynas Levickis,
Ginger Zee and her
Professional dancing partner, Valentin
Chmerkovskiy, presented an absolute KILLER Performance for their Quarterfinals Routine!
Ginger & Val
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
It’s raining “10”s for Dancing With The Stars’ Performing Meteorologist, Ginger, and her partner, Val, as this increasingly
Formidable Duo brought home yet another
Perfect Scoring of all “10”s from the Judges Panel for their Passionate Latin
Dance!
Ginger & Val
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
Supremely EXQUISITE in every (no less than!) gorgeous detail, GMA’s stereo-typically lazy competitor, Zee, effortlessly proved once more that she is now most definitely In it to Win it, when with
each and every breathtaking moment and beautiful Dancing-Line, Ginger succeeded
in marking this Dance as one of the better ones among all of Season 22’s!!
Ginger & Val
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
And what of Val?Whose thrillingly STELLAR Choreography (Even by Chmerkovskiy standards!) and inclusion of that one -
STILL-mind-blowingly - REMARKABLE Lift
left his Audience - Myself, of course, included! - effectively on the edge of
its seat and craving for much, much more!
Ginger & Val
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
“… What I loved,” exclaimed Head Judge, Len Goodman, when critiquing this
Performance, “was the Lightning Show:Fast, slow!Big, small!Hard, soft!Fire, ice!I’m telling you, that
was one hell of Dance!”
Jodie
& Keo:
Dancing the Jive to “Something’s Got a Hold on Me”
by Etta James, Jodie Sweetin and her
Professional partner, Keo Motsepe, submitted their Week 08
Routine.
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
An amazing display in the way of Technical Execution, TeamMoSweet were once again Shucking and, well, Jiving on Monday Night, bringing home their very first Perfect Score of the Season for this Routine!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
With a fine showing of Great Rhythm, Dancing Lines, and Performance Pizzazz, Jodie
successfully Kicked and Flicked her way the top – Although, being completely
honest, I had personally found some of her Fast and Fun Footwork to be leaning
towards “Slightly Heavy-footed”, though that just may have been the direct,
visual result of opting to wear Flats instead of Heels! – impressing the show's
Panel Judges and thrilling the Ballroom's live Audience!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 08
“… Now, let me be honest,” voiced Head Judge, Len Goodman, following this Performance, “the first couple of Weeks I felt you were a little bit nervous, little bit unsure of yourself; but, as the Competition’s gone on, you’ve grown and you’ve flown … I’ve not seen … any Dance … [that has] made me feel so happy as what you’ve danced!”

Performing one Marvelous Quickstep to “For Once in
My Life” by (the one and only!) Stevie
Wonder, Fuller House Actress Jodie Sweetin, and her Pro
partner, Keo Motsepe,
presented their Week 07 Routine!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night
Appropriately clad in Sunshine Yellow, Jodie’s delightfully fast-paced Quick-stepping burst onto Monday night’s Ballroom Dance Floor came across like a magnificent, pleasing ray of sunlight, affecting a no less than TREMENDOUS display
ofFun, Color, and Pizzazz!!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night
An overall much sweeter
Performance than ever witnessed before by this already-Dazzling Duo, TeamMoSweet absolutely killed this Show-opening Routine with
the help of some charmingly cheerful Choreography (provided by none other than Keo, of course!) and some seriously mad Dancing Skills exhibited
by Jodie, whose high-hoofing antics seem to surpass that of even her
Professional partner at times, when with each and every Fast and Feminine Foot
Placement, Sweetin brought
this amazing Quickstep to life in all the right and endearing ways!!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night
“What I love about the Quickstep,” disclosed Head
Judge, Len Goodman, following
the Performance, “ is Commitment and Attack! No holding back, and that’s exactly
what you did!You came out, you went for
it!You lost Body Contact here and
there; but, for ‘Energy’ and really
giving it all you’ve got, that’s what
you gave me!I thought it was fabulous!”
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 07
- Icons Night
“… I give you a lot of credit ,” added Panel Judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, to Jodie, “because you danced that
[Quickstep] without having the right Contact; and so, you had to muscle your
way through it. And there was a moment where, Keo, you missed a step I think,
‘cause you were still going on the Charleston, there was something out of Sync. And I actually think that Jodie was
actually in Time … She kept Powering through it! … that is so hard to do … especially in the Quickstep … to stay on
track, I was really impressed with you!…”

Dancing a Contemporary to "Try" by P!nk, Fuller House star, Jodie Sweetin, and her
Professional dancing partner, Keo
Motsepe, presented their Week 06 Routine.
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night
Ah, TeamMoSweet
is BACK; and well, More Sweet than
ever, as this reunited Duo submitted one truly Impressive and Emoting Dance for
their Famous Dances Night Routine!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night
If I'm being completely honest, this general type of
Contemporary Style just isn't at all"My Cup of Tea" (with respect to Len!) with its seemingly over-the-top effort to include each
and every single hideous pose known within the
Art of Dance in a seriously misguided
attempt to effect a more "Meaningful" and "Artistic" Feel
and Performance.
That said, on this particular Week of Weeks, it was
merely Jodie (and even more so) Keo's job to
recreate one assigned Famous Dance Routine, nothing more and less; and
in that respect, this Dance was pulled off beautifully!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night
A no less than gripping Exhibition, this physically
expressed (Good grief, you guys, what'd that poor Table ever do to you?! ... ;) )
depiction of Emotional Turmoil ("Try"... or not ... I'm guessing that it's
seriously time to re-think this Relationship!), unbridled Passion, and Anger wonderfully showcased Jodie's particular talent for Live Performances, as well
as her great and always present Musicality and Terrific Lines overall!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night
"That was a really difficult Routine to
watch," observed Panel Judge, Carrie
Ann Inaba, concerning the Performance, "because there's so much
Aggression and so much Anger in it … but I think you transformed something sort
of Aggressive and, what I consider [to be], almost on the Borderline of 'Ugly'
into something really Dynamic and Artistic, and Beautiful!…"
Now, there was, of course, that one faltering Lift
in the middle of this Routine, where things got just a bit iffy for Sweetin, which in turn forced Motsepe to just
completely "muscle it out" (Very nicely done, btw, Keo!);but otherwise, yet another simply STELLAR
Showing for this always amazing Couple!
Jodie & Keo
DWTS Season 22, Week 06
- Famous Dances Night
"… It had that 'Confrontational' feel about it
that comes from the Video," remarked Head Judge, Len Goodman, "and I thought you Performed it so
well! You know, I know there was a little
struggle getting into the Lift; but that Lift is so iconic and you pulled
it off!Great work, well done both of
you!"
