Jodie & Keo – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 04

DWTS Season 22, Week 04

REVIEW:  Jodie & Keo

Performing a Cha-Cha to “Try Everything” from Zootopia, Fuller House star, Jodie Sweetin, and her Pro partner, Keo Motsepe, presented their Disney Dance!

Well, first off, and I just have to ask:  While I’m certainly one to appreciate all the work and tedious, wearisome detail that MUST go into putting on a Live show each and every week, what was all that squabble and fuss that Jodie was concocting in her Pre-Dance Rehearsal Package about, seeing as how she and Keo were nowhere NEAR the Chair/Animated Antelope at any point during the Routine???

(Heck, you couldn’t even SEE the Antelope for the majority of the live Performance!  … There was one there the whole time, right?)

That said, I really enjoyed this Routine!!  Okay, so sure, there were those one or two ... okay, FEW … Mess-ups displayed throughout the dancing of it by Jodie; but, overall I must say that I had found this Cha-Cha-ing exhibition to be a delightfully gratifying Performance!

With Tip-top Rhythm, STELLAR Hip and Leg Action, and a beautifully Preserved Dancing Frame that had remained throughout each and every error, Jodie proved to possess her own Pro-like Quality as she deftly carried out an already doomed Dance (score-wise, anyway) with a never-fading, Stage-Brightening Smile and Charisma!

Likewise, her partner, Keo, through the cool use of the intellect and adaptability his long-time career in the art of Professional Dancing had afforded him, was able to (more or less) smooth over any and all of the Dance’s incurring “Bumpy” passages, ultimately enabling this Routine to remain, overall, the Scrumptiously Fun and Pleasing experience it was meant to be!

“… You kept going, and that’s all that really matters!  You know what I mean?” began Guest Judge, Zendaya Coleman, with Judges Critiques following the Performance, “Good on you for continuing and pushing through!” while Bruno Tonioli labeled Jodie as being “… the most beautiful Gazelle to ever Stumble in the Jungle!  …”
“So, I’m just curious,” queried Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, “because it was an underwhelming Performance, and I know that you know that, but like, what happened?”

Oy, OUCH, Carrie Ann!  Let’s please try and reign in those Cat Claws, could we?  Because that was such a pointedly mean, unnecessary question to ask this poor girl whose standing before you, so very obviously upset and even seemingly on the verge of tears; and, I know that you know that; but like, WHY in the world would you ask that?!

“I couldn’t hear! I couldn’t hear the music! …” responded Jodie, trying to laugh.

“Okay,” mused the cold and calculating Carrie Ann, “… it felt like you were Marking and you guys couldn’t get in sync!”

(That’s what she just said … Are you coming to any sort of point anytime soon, Carrie Ann?!)

“… It’s really important to ‘Zoom’ into each other,” (Ah!  A “point”, at long last!) “I kinda felt that, when you got a little lost, you didn’t quite go into Keo, the way he was there for you.”

Well, shows what YOU know, Carrie Ann; ergo, NOTHING, because that is EXACTLY what Jodie did!!  … <Whispering secretly>
Psssst! PSSSST, Carrie Ann!! I don’t mean to embarrass you; but that's kinda how Jodie was able to get through the Dance!

“So, really work on that Partnership and the Trust!  I know it was a tough Routine, and I’m not, I’m not putting you down for it,”

(REALLY?!  Could’ve fooled me!)

“I’m just trying to help you, as you move forward.”

“Forward” into WHAT??  … A written Apology?!!

Good night, Carrie Ann, would you lighten up?!  The “tough Routine” was really quite GREAT, thank you very much!  It just suffered from a few Missteps, that’s all!  … Missteps that, through Jodie & Keo’s PERFECTLY intact
“Partnership”, DIDN’T AT ALL HINDER THIS CHA-CHA FROM BEING A SUPREMELY ENJOYABLE PERFORMANCE!!

“Well, it wasn’t underwhelming, at all!”
countered Head Judge Len Goodman, “It was full on, you went for it big time, you had a go, Okay!  … No, no, no! [In response to what can only be described as some sudden, inaudible screeching in protest from Carrie Ann]  What it was, you went wrong!  And the trouble is it’s like getting a pimple on your nose:  You hope no one notices, but they always do!  So, [that said] ‘Underwhelming’ it was not, so well done!”

Well, thank you, Lenny, and nice it is to hear the
voice of sanity!  <Looking back over at Carrie Ann to curtly stick my tongue out> <Nnnnnhhhhh!!>
