A Singer, Songwriter, and
Record Producer, Andy is perhaps best known for his Three hit
singles, “Your Head Up”, “Fine By Me”, and of course, “Honey, I’m Good” (Love,
love, love that song!).
Andy performed live on DWTS, Season 20, for 4th Place
Semifinalist Nastia Liukin and partner Derek Hough's
Week 07 Modern Charleston. During an interview with DWTS' All Access
Host, Gethin Jones, Andy was asked whether or not he would
ever consider joining the show as a contestant, to which Andy enthusiastically
responded, "I’m super down, let it be known! Let it be known that I
am super down and I’m very competitive!”
Andy Grammer saying "I’m super down, let it be known! Let it be known that I am super down and I’m very competitive!” You go, Andy!
Andy will be dancing with Season 20’s First-runner up, Allison
Holker! He was originally partnered with Season 14’s Mirror
Ball Champion, Peta Murgatroyd;
Peta Murgatroyd
however, due to an unfortunate
ankle injury, Peta was forced to bow out of the competition.
Poor Peta had to withdraw from DWTS' 21st Season due to injury. ... <sniff!>
I was extremely sorry to learn that Peta would not be
competing this Fall (I think that she and Andy would have performed very
well together!); but, I was also very happy to discover that Andy had been
subsequently placed with Allison! I really do think that
these two are going to make one fantastic duo!
Allison Holker was loads of fun in Season 20 ... I loved watching her and Riker dance! I can't wait to see her and Andy!
Hans: Can I just say something crazy? Anna: I love Crazy! This dance was so much fun right from the beginning!

Yes!

Nastia & Derek having some fun with Olaf! DWTS S20, Wk05 - Disney Night
This routine was super enjoyable (nice choreography, Derek!); however, it must be said, I really thought Nastia was a shoo-in for Elsa. I mean, c'mon, does no one else see the resemblance?
Dancing With The Stars has announced yet another
Season 21 competitor and it is quite the doozy!..
Andy Grammer, famous Pop-rock Singer and
Songwriter was revealed this week to be contestant number 8!!
It's a DWTS Fantasy PICK come true! (click HERE to see my DWTS Celebrity Fantasy Pick Post about Andy Grammer)
Andy Grammer
Perhaps best known for his hit single, “Honey I’m Good” (Love that song!!). Andy expressed a wish to join the Show when performing live for Nastia Liukin and partner Derek Hough’s Week 07 Modern Charleston in Season 20!
L-R: Andy Grammer, Nastia Liukin, Derek Hough , and Sasha Farber.
“I'm super down,” the excited 31-year-old had exclaimed. “let it be known! Let it be known that I'm super down and I'm very competitive!”
"Let it be known that I am super down and I'm very competitive!" - Andy Grammer
Well, it would appear that Disney was super down as well, and I must say that I am scarcely less thrilled myself!
Nastia Liukin, and her "fill-in", Professional partner,Sasha Farber, danced an
exciting, modern-style Charleston to "Honey, I'm Good" (love, love,
LOVE that song!) byAndy
Grammer.
Nastia & Sasha Dance a "Modern" Charleston wk07
I gotta say, when the show announced thatDerek Houghwas down and out for the count and
would not be able to dance with Nastia, I was a little more than
panicked, but now in hindsight, it's clear that I had absolutelynothingto worry about!
I simplyadoredthis routine, and Sasha did so
wonderfully with stepping in as partner in place of Derek!
Derek: What are Y'all talkin' about? I'm totaly fine!
Nastia: You are?! Really?! Sasha: Ooo ... that's not a good idea. Derek: I'm fine! Now c'mon, let's dance!
Derek: Whoa! That kinda hurts! On second thought ...
Sasha: Yeah, you better sit down, buddy.
Derek: Hey! I know! You dance with Sasha! Nastia: You're kidding. Sasha: I could do that. Nastia: You are kidding, right?!
Derek: < joining Nastia's and Sasha's hands > C'mon, it'll be great!
Sasha: Swell!
Nastia: Fine!
Derek: Get out there and knock 'em dead!
The fun, zany, and driving choreography wasbrilliantlyplaced in a Subway setting, where
Derek was free to "dance" along with Nastia and Sasha from a
convenient sitting position, and the live, singing performance fromAndy Grammerduring the dance was the ultimate
cherry on top (and I loved watching Derek join in the singing near the end of
the number)!

Nastia & Sasha Dance a "Modern" Charleston DWTS Season 20, Week 07 - Eras Night
Really I enjoyed this routine so much I could just go on and on
about how great it was; but, on to the matter of Nastia's dancing of it:
For the first time since her joining the show, I found the judges' scoring of
this dance to be - now brace yourselves! - a tadtoo
generous.
It's shocking, I know, but true ... While overall Nastia's dancing
was very good and gymnastically athletic, her Charleston was, in fact, (surprisingly)
heavy-footed, and the discomfort and uneasiness she felt about dancing with
Sasha instead of Derek was there for all to see.
" ... and the discomfort and uneasiness she felt about dancing with Sasha instead of Derek was there for all to see."
Itgreatlypains me to say it, but I think this
dance deserved all "9"s, and not any "10"s.
That being said, the routine as a whole (thanks, mostly, to the ever ingenious Derek) was very enjoyable.
<Whew!> We did It!

Nastia "What-do-you-want-from-this-poor-girl" Liukin and her under-appreciated professional dancing partner, Derek Hough, danced the Tango Monday night to "Summer" by Calvin Harris.
Nastia & Derek Dance The Tango
Len Goodman judged the couple's dance to be riddled with error: " ... You gotta have the slow! It was all too fast, it was too much rotation! ... "
I just have to ask ...
What in the world were you looking at, Len Goodman!?! The ceiling? Your shoes? Because it sure as heck wasn't' the ballroom dance floor, whereupon a Tango was being so brilliantly and PERFECTLY executed!
Nastia Liukin & Derek Hough's Tango was absolutely brilliant!
An 8? Seriously, Len!?!
That Tango was excellent and it most certainly included slowdowns (Fantastic choreography, Derek!), and, BTW, did you see the spin-ny thing-y on the floor? ... No, did you?? That was amazing!
Nastia & Derek Nastia's spin on the floor was amazing!
Also about the dance Julianne Hough said, " ...I felt like you didn't connect together as a couple ... " ... You're actually right, Julianne, there was about as much "connection" between Nastia and Derek as there ever is between two Pros dancing a coming-back-from-commercials dance ... very well spotted!
Nastia Liukin & Derek Hough - The Tango Week 06, Spring Break Night
Carrie Ann Inaba commented that Nastia keeps falling back on her Gymnastics rather than properly executing this other form of art called dance: " ... You go back to Gymnastics, this is a new art form! ... You have to just allow yourself to dance!"
Okay, what is Carrie Ann even talking about!?! That's absurd!
I know this may grate some people ... the truth can hurt sometimes ... but, so far, for the competition of Dancing With The Stars Season 20, there's Nastia, Riker, Rumer, Noah, and then there is everyone else ... and I am growing tired of the judges condescendingly acting as though Nastia is doing pretty well for herself ... considering the unfortunate fact that the poor dear is a Gold Medalist, not a dancer.
Nastia & Derek Dancing a Pro-level Tango
Honestly, judges, can y'all please get your acts together!

< Blinking
eyes, slowly the ceiling above comes into focus >
Where
am I? Why am I lying on the floor?
< Sitting
up on elbows and looking around in a confused daze >
And
what’s that noise? … Oh! It’s Castle playing on my T.V. …
< leaning
up to switch it off >
What
happened? The last thing I can recall is
watching DWTS’ Season 20 Semifinals Elimination and … Oh, yeah … Nastia & Derek were
eliminated! … Ai-yi-yi, ... what up?! Of all
the stupid … wait, ... if I’m going to
gripe about this, I should at least be writing …
< Seating
myself back in my chair and fumbling clumsily for my keyboard > … So ... Nastia Liukin and her
professional dancing partner, Derek
Hough, were eliminated this week from Dancing With The Stars and
therefore will not be advancing to the Finals … this totally stinks!
Of
all the stupid and idiotic eliminations this show has seen, this one has got to take the cake! Well … this one and the one where Charlie
White and his partner Sharna Burgess were not allowed to advance past the
Semifinals in Season 18 …
Nastia
& Derek’s dancing (and
choreography) has been nothing less than perfect
all season long!
Now,
granted, of all the remaining celebrities in Season 20, "Nasty" Nastia did seem to have the
worst personality (It’s a wonder she doesn’t just trip all the time, what with
her nose constantly up in the air like that!);
and that, no doubt, is what
cost them the votes needed to get to the Finals next week; but, c’mon, you
cannot argue that Nastia’s dancing was superb!
Then
again, how can you honestly say that Noah
Galloway does not deserve to be in the finals? He is an American hero who has sacrificed an
arm and a leg fighting for our country … and, oh yeah! … he is also a really good dancer!
And
what about Rumer Willis? That
girl has been kicking some serious Ballroom @$$ since Week 01! Plus, she is really, super likable!
And
don’t even get me started on Riker
Lynch … he’s a regular @$$-kicking, show-stealing, born-to-dance
“Hough”! And he’s extremely likable,
too!
Would
it have killed the show to have 4
Finalists this season (Just like they did last season) and not just 3?!?
< Sigh! > I guess in the end, when you think about it,
there really wasn’t a great way for
this Semifinals to go … it still stinks, though! As a final note, if they had to go, there certainly was no better way for Nastia & Derek to end their DWTS journey then with (what very well may have been Derek's last dance, as a competing Pro, on the show ... < not gonna cry, not gonna cry! > ... ) their moving Viennese Waltz with Len Goodman, (who also may NOT be coming back next Season - - okay, now I really am gonna cry! ... Don't go Lenny!) ... one of the best, most memorable dances on Dancing With The Stars, EVER!! Absolutely beautiful!

< Trying
to prepare myself emotionally for this impending doom, sometimes referred to as
a Dancing with the Stars Elimination, ... without much success > …
Noah &
Sharna,
Rumer & Val, and Nastia
& Derek are all in Jeopardy??
It’s okay, it’s okay! Just
breathe … it’s gonna hurt no matter who it is, so, …
(But,
c’mon, we all know that it’s going to be Noah, right?)
Oh! This is it! … the dreaded moment has
arrived!! < Starting to feel really queasy now! > … ... The first
couple to be called safe is … is …
Noah & Sharna!?! What!?! And now it’s down to Rumer & Val and
Nastia & Derek??!!! Oh, no!!
Oh,
wait, wait! Tom Bergeron is speaking again … < straining to hear Tom
over the pounding of a slightly (okay, TOTALLY)
panicking heart! > … “The couple who is leaving right now is …” is … is … (“bum-bum, bum-bum, bum-bum,
bum-bum”)
“The couple who is leaving right now is …” (“bum-bum, bum-bum, bum-bum, bum-bum”)
… is?!!!? … (Oh, why don’t they just get it over with!)
