For their TV Night routine, Alexa
PenaVega and her Professional partner, Mark Ballas, danced a Jazz Number to “Breaking Bad Theme”, by
Dave Porter, from Breaking Bad.

Well, while major props go out to Mark for choreographing something, ANYTHING in fact, to this non-song song, I found this routine to be lacking, in more ways than one!
First off, this performance was, dare I say it, BORING and unimpressive
to say the least; and, Alexa’s
actual dancing of it was even worse!
She was out of sync! ... On more than one occasion, despite the judges' praise to the contrary!

And what did some of the judges mean when they gushed that Alexa & Mark were more “connected” than ever?! … It’s ridiculous! How could they even possibly tell, the Couple was wearing great big, ugly gas masks for half of the routine and a hazmat suit for the whole time!

And anyway, I am growing rather tired of all this “connected” debate going on behind the judges' panel … Alexa & Mark are perfectly “connected” on the dance floor, thank you very much; and are further more, as a direct result, one of the best Dancing Duos of Season 21!
…What I want you to remember is ...” advised guest judge, Alfonso Ribeiro, the Not-so-wise,
addressing Alexa, “You two can win! You
and Carlos can not! This is your relationship in this Ballroom. …and
remember that going forward ... !”
Okay, now what is the great
Ballroom Master even rambling on about?!
Seriously judges, what is the DEAL? Because I happen to know from watching the
show that you guys are usually not this dense.
Does Alexa and Carlos’
happy marital state just bother you or something? Because all this reproving of poor Alexa’s
partnership with Mark is screwy, unfounded, and completely misplaced ... just sayin'.

The simply elegant, intensely romantic and emoting choreography was thrilling to watch (Brilliantly done, Sharna!); and, Nick’s refined, graceful dancing - and more so - his staying in character throughout the performance, was in a word, masterful!

Now granted, Nick still held on to the slightly hunched remnants of his former dancing self with a barely less-than-perfect dancing Frame; but overall, his improvement was nothing less than astounding!

He just completely blew me away, earning for himself a very well-deserved score of all 9’s!
