Cast by the Categories: Part 02 – DWTS, Season 22

Cast by the Category:

In my mind, so far at least, the Cast of DWTS, Season 22 can be divided into three separate categories:

Category # 1 -

Excited to see them dance on the show:

Category # 2 -

Waiting to see if they grow on me:

Category # 3 -

I’m just not feelin’ it:

-------

OK, here we go ...

Category # 2 - Waiting to see if they grow on me:

I’m not very well acquainted with the following contestants and, in some cases, I had never even heard of them before, but ABC and Disney are extremely good at getting you well acquainted with someone and furthermore, more often than not, making you love them!

And so, I am “waiting to see if they grow” on me!

Antonio Brown:  Anyone who keeps up with this DWTS loving Blog knows that I RARELY take an Interest in the General Going-Ons of the Grid Iron, with few exceptions (“Go, You Packers, Go!”); however, it seems widely known that this particular Wide Receiver is quick on his cleats; and, I am personally looking forward to finding out whether or not he is equally Quick(-on-his-)Steps!

Kim Fields:  Well, the Ballroom’s in “troubl-l-l-le” (or so I hear tell) Tootie style! … And while I am not too well acquainted with this The Facts of Life Actress, my first, personal impression of her when being interviewed on GMA’s (Good Morning America’s) Cast Reveal was that she seems extremely nice; and that furthermore, by all accounts, she and DWTS’ beloved Sasha Faber are already great pals; so, I am definitely looking forward to finding out whether or not this endeared “Screen Shorty” will <Ahem!> grow on me!

Doug Flutie:  Again, yet another NFL great whom I’ve barely heard of - Through no fault of his own, according to his impressive Wikipedia Page “Resume”! - but it would seem widely agreed upon that this beloved, former Quarterback is more than comfortable getting his fingers wrapped around that Pig-skinned Ball, so why not a Mirrored one?!

Kim Zolciack Withdraws From The Competition – DWTS S21, Wk03

Zolciak Drops Out

Due To Health Issues –

DWTS Season 21,Week 03

Kim & Tony

Season 21 contestant, Kim Zolciak, officially Withdrew from the competition Monday night after apparently suffering from a small Stroke during the previous week.

The Atlanta Housewife seemingly recovered rather quickly from this competitive set-back, with reports circulating throughout the week of Kim’s Professional partner, Tony Dovolani, rehearsing with Zolciak in her hospital room for the Couple’s upcoming I Dream of Genie-themed Samba.

Noting that her “health” came first, Zolciak wound up being a no-show for DWTS’ TV Night, despite gossip to the contrary, leaving Tony to perform their Samba with help from obliging Troupe member, Jenna Johnson.

Upon dancing the lively (and incidentally, very well-choreographed) routine, Dancing With The Stars Host, Tom Bergeron, joined the very good humored Tony on the dance floor to solemnly announce The Pro and Reality star’s departure from the show.

Kim Zolciak was contacted live during the announcement where she was asked to give an update of her current predicament.

"Kim Zolciak was contacted live ... "

Zolciak informed the Audience and fans at large that, while she indeed felt ready to dance, her Doctor had advised her against any flying at this time, hence Zolciak’s absence from the live show.

After quoting a section of DWTS’ rules, set for the show in 2006 when the show debuted, that confirmed Zolciak’s requirement to Withdraw from the program, and one or two Lawyer quips, the affair was ended.

As a result, the night’s pre-scheduled Elimination was subsequently canceled, much to the relief of the remaining competitors.

REVIEW:  Kim & Tony

Kim Zolciak and her Professional partner, Tony Dovolani, began their Week 02, 2-night competition with the dancing of a Quickstep.

DWTS Season 21, Week 02, Night 01 -
Hometown Glory Week

An incredible improvement over last week, to be sure - definitely not as “spaced out” as her previous dance - and, Tony, the choreography of this routine was loads of fun!

As for this Couple’s second performance, the Foxtrot, I thought that it rated a “Pretty good,” but not at all "great".  The choreography from Tony was enjoyable; and, perhaps if it had been danced a little better, this routine might have reflected that fact!

Kim Zolciak at the beginning of
what looked like a very promising routine ...
Salsa is really hard for week 01; but,
I didn't see any Salsa. Instead of dance, there was
a constant "spaced-out stare",  zero content, and
total lack of fluid movement (or any movement!).

Kim & Tony dancing what they called a Salsa
DWTS Season 21, Week 01
Honestly, in my opinion, this was one of the
worst dances of the night.  I mean, it had so
much potential ... what with the song, the
setting, the Troupe dancers! ...
What went wrong? (sooo many things!)

Kim & Tony's Salsa
DWTS Season 21 Week 01
This entire routine was just ... wrong ...
sooo very wrong!
I really like Tony so I hope that they can do
better next Week! ... please? ... because I really don't
want to see this pose again ... ever!

DWTS Season 21, Week 01

REVIEW: Kim & Tony

Kim Zolciak and her Professional partner, Tony Dovolani, kicked off their Season with a sub-par Salsa to "Hey Mama" by David Guetta, featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack.

Wow, I ... <looking again> ... WOW!  I uh, ... <looking again> ... Hmmmm, that was, um, terrible.

Category # 3 - I’m Just Not Feeling It:

I don’t know; but, with the following contestants, “I’m just not feeling it!”

Paula Deen:  Supreme-Southern-Chef-turned-Dazzling-Dancing-Diva … Mmmm, nope!  I’m just not feeling it, y’all … Sorry, Paula!

Paula Deen does the Whip!

Victor Espinoza:  I just don’t see this already-endearing Jockey finishing first in DWTS’ biannual race to the Mirror Ball Trophy … however enjoyable the ride might be!

Victor Espinoza

Hayes Grier:  <Watching Hayes’ Whip and Nae Nae video with my hand over my mouth in stunned disbelief> … You know, I would love to be wrong; but, sorry Hayes, I am just (so, so, SO) not feeling it!

Seriously dude ... what are you doing?

Category # 2 - Waiting to see if they grow on me:

I'm not very well acquainted with the following contestants; and, in some cases, I have never even heard of them before; but, ABC and Disney are extremely good at getting you well acquainted with someone and more often than not, making you love them!

And so, I am "waiting to see if they grow on me"!

Chaka Khan:  As unfortunate as this fact may be, I'm just not very well acquainted with this beloved Singer;

Chaka Kahn rockin' the red.
Lookin' good, Chaka!  You are totally killin'
that red dress!

but I do know of (and thoroughly enjoy!) her 1975 hit, "Tell Me Something Good"; plus, I always enjoy watching her Professional dancing partner, Keo Motsepe, compete; so I can really see Chaka growing on me!

Nick Carter:  I'm actually not very well acquainted with Nick, or even the Backstreet Boys Group as a whole <Dodging the rotten fruit being hurled towards me> … (I know, I know!); but, I was able to watch Nick strut a little of his dancing stuff during his Whip and Nae Nae video (Included on DWTS’ amazing official YouTube channel!);

Watch Nick Whip!

and, to my pleasant surprise, found him to be the best Male Celebrity Dancer of the lot thus far … Weeeell, him and Andy Grammer! … Plus, Nick has been fortunate enough to be partnered with the ever-brilliant Sharna Burgess, so I fully expect to see some major “growth” in the very near future!

Kim Zolciak:  I can’t say I know her very well; but,
A:  She’s seems extremely nice, from what I could tell when watching her on GMA’s (Good Morning America’s) Season 21 Cast Announcement on September 2nd.

AND

B:  She’s partnered with Tony Dovolani, so I have very high hopes of her growing on me!

Tamar Braxton:  Calling All [Tamar Braxton] Lovers!  I may not be very well acquainted with this Grammy-nominated Artist; but, I do know from watching her Whip and Nae Nae YouTube video, that, so far at least, she is most certainly the best Female Celebrity Dancer!

Tamar dances the Nae Nae!

… And I know that she has been partnered with DWTS’ reigning, Golden Mirror Ball Champion, Val Chmerkovskiy … Yeah, I can see her growing on me!

In my mind, so far at least, the Cast of DWTS, Season 21 can be divided into three, separate categories:

Category # 1 - Excited to see them dance on the show:

Category # 2 - Waiting to see if they grow on me:

Category # 3 - I’m just Not Feeling it:

-------

Okay, so here goes! …

Category # 1 - Excited to see them dance on the show:

Up first we have ...

Bindi Irwin:  Because, crikey mate, she’s the bloomin’ daughter of Steve Irwin, star of the show The Crocodile Hunter; and, who didn’t love watching that show?! … I mean, c’mon, biting your nails off as you witness ol’ Steve wrangle yet another mammoth-sized, man-eating reptile to the ground, or nervously watching in shocked disbelief as crazy Steve shoved his head into a nesting den of Rattlesnakes?  Seriously now, what’s not to love?!

Bindi Irwin

Not to mention, she seems extremely nice and I think that she and partner Derek Hough are going to have an absolute <Ahem> Ball dancing together!

Gary Busey:  Who else out there saw his Whip and Nae Nae dance, courtesy of DWTS (Fantastic!) YouTube channel?!

Gary Busey does the Nae Nae!

Come now, he looks as though he will be a total blast to watch compete!

Andy Grammer: Duh! It’s a DWTS Fantasy Celebrity Pick come true (Go, Disney; go, Disney!)!!

Andy Grammer dances the Nae Nae!

I really think that Andy will do very well in the upcoming competition, as longs as he remembers to keep his “Head up” (and his shoulders down), of course!

Alek Skarlatos:  Because he is an American (and International) Hero, and that always deserves a certain, immediate amount of respect.  Plus, I saw him being interviewed during GMA’s (Good Morning America’s) September 2nd Cast Announcement and he seemed very nice!

Alek Skarlatos

Carlos and Alexa PenaVega:  As DWTS' first competing married couple, I am super psyched to see how this dancing-novelty plays out; and, although I am not very well acquainted with these two Celebrities, I am, of course, extremely well acquainted (and completely attached to!) both of their Professional partners, Mirror Ball Champions Witney Carson and Mark Ballas, so I am a little more than "excited to see them dance"!

Quick Info: DWTS, Season 21 Cast: Kim Zolciak and Tony Dovolani

A Quick Introduction To

Our DWTS Season 21 Cast!

Kim Zolciak and Tony Dovolani

Kim Zolciak & Tony Dovolani

A television personality and a Singer, Kim is perhaps best known for starring in Bravo’s' hit Reality Series, The Real Housewives of Atlanta (along side Season 18 contestant and former Dovolani partner, NeNe Leakes!),

Tony's old Partner with Tony's new Partner:
on the left:  NeNe,
on the right:  NaeNae
... get it?

and from her subsequent spin-off series, Don't be Tardy (formerly entitled Don't be Tardy For The Wedding as the show focused on Kim's Wedding Preparations with then Fiancé Kroy Biermann).

As a Singer, Kim has also released three singles,“Tardy for the Party” (2009), “Google Me” ((2011), and “Love Me First” (2012).

Kim is partnered with Season 15's Mirror Ball Champion, Tony Dovolani, which, I think, is a really great pairing!
