Derek Hough: DWTS Departure – Part 5 of 5

The Long-time Dreaded,

Dismal Derek Departure

is Upon Us! – Part 5 of 5

Well, dwtslovers, it’s here <SNIFF!>, the moment we, the fans, have been dreading for some time now ... a personal, Dancing With The Stars NIGHTMARE come true … The one, the ONLY, Derek Hough will not be returning to the Ballroom for Season 22 of the show.

Fan Favorite, Derek Hough leaving DWTS??!!!

According to E! News, a representative of the Fan Favorite Pro has been quoted as saying that Derek will be, “taking the Season off”.
<Record Scratch> Wait, WHAT?!!

So, that’s it then? … DWTS’ 6-time Mirror Ball Winner and reigning Champion is simply going to coolly Waltz away from the Glitter Dome, just like that?? …  This is AWFUL!!!

While the reasons behind Derek’s Disastrous Ditch remain unclear at present, Fans of the Dancer, as well as many Media Outlets, seem to agree it must have something to do with Hough’s recently announced Broadway gig, Singing in the Rain, which is set to premiere in January of next year.

The 30-year-old, 2-time Emmy-winning Choreographer has been cast in the show’s Lead Role of Don Lockwood, as was confirmed by Derek himself, near the end of February, with the posting of the following Instagram caption, “Proud to be a part of another adventure with The Weinstein Company.  #Broadway #singingintherain #classic #2017”

Yes, yes, Derek, that’s all well and good (and I, for one, am certainly no less ecstatic than the next Fan to see you returning to “The Great White Way”!); but why, oh why, does that exciting fact have to naturally translate into a Bismal, Ballroom absence???

Making this upcoming Season’s shocking situation all the more stark is the previous announcement of another Hough-induced Upheaval:  The Departure of one Julianne Hough.

Julianne Hough

The sister of Derek and 2-time Mirror Ball Champion will not be returning this Season as a Judge, opting instead to leave the show in pursuit of “a lot of exciting stuff ” (to hear the younger Hough tell it); but, adds Julianne according to ET, “The pro dancers, producers, and crew at DWTS will always be my family.”

Derek would seem to agree with his little Sis, remarking to ET, “… she did three, great Seasons, and it’s time for her to go,”

“She’s got great things on the horizon, and she’s doing great things,” dished the record winning Professional, before additionally noting, “Len’s coming back, and so, you know, I think [that] four Judges feels a little redundant anyways … I think it’s the right thing to do.”

That’s right, fellow DWTS enthusiasts (If you’re keeping count of the unpleasant Shoe-droppings!), for the first time in an incredible total of 10 SEASONS, our favorite Reality Dance Program has been, once again, unceremoniously placed in a Horrific Hough Hole (the last “Hole” being brought about by Derek’s notable absence for the show’s 12th Season while shooting for the 2013 film, Make Your Move.) !

Of course, it cannot be refuted that Derek’s present departure from the show was (Unfortunately!) inevitable, and could not have been better timed, as it follows his latest (and some say GREATEST) Mirror Ball Win in Season 21 with his Celebrity partner, Bindi Irwin!

Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough!

Still, as one of DWTS' (and, indeed, Hough’s!) BIGGEST Fans, it does not seem at all inappropriate for this hopeful Blogger to observe and say that Dancing With The Stars just WILL not - and even CAN not - be the same without you, Derek!

… <Popping Lips> Sooo, is it too much to ask that you wrap things up quickly and #GetBackToTheBallroom … like, NOW
?!!!
