Doug & Karina – Review of DWTS Season 22, Week 01

DWTS Season 22, Week 01
REVIEW:  Doug & Karina

Aiming for a Glitter Dome’s Touchdown, famed, former Quarterback, Doug Flutie, and his Professional dancing partner, Karina Smirnoff, launched a Foxtrot to the Boston Beloved “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond.

Well, unfortunately, I can’t exactly report that Doug’s first, ill-fated Ballroom Pass landed anywhere near the “End Zone”; but, I will say that its overall Yardage (Surprisingly!) wasn’t so very bad either!

A good attitude and a willingness to try can go an awfully long way within this Competition; and, if Flutie proved anything on Monday, it’s that he has plenty of both and more to spare!!

Plus, it was clear that the entire Ballroom and its Live Audience were rooting for him … AND for that Classic Song choice given to him for this Routine!

In the end, and despite some rather unsightly Hunched Shoulders, Sloppy Footwork, and only Fair to Middling Musicality, Flutie’s Foxtrot pulled out a rather pleasing effect, leaving Fans wondering whether or not Week 02 might just see better results from the Grid Iron Legend!

After all, and as Judge Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out to Flutie following his Dance, “People love Underdogs on this show”!
