It's a TIE!! Bindi & Derek and Nick & Sharna Are The High Scorers! - S21, Wk01

Take the Lead as DWTS, Season 21,

 OFFICIALLY Kicks Off!!

Aaaaahhhhhhhhh <Jumping up and down and clapping hands ecstatically>!!  It's finally starting!!!

Dancing With The Stars officially kicked off their highly-anticipated 21st Season with a exciting, sequin-bedecked, no-holds-barred Premiere, in a Night that was chock-full of Fabulous Fun, Memorable Moments, and Spectacular Surprises!!

And speaking of surprises, how about the first half of our Week 01 High-Scoring Tie, Bindi Irwin, and her Professional partner, Derek Hough?!! ...

There were a lot of Did-you-see-that?! and Wow!-Who-saw-that-coming?! moments on Monday night to be sure; but, the biggest kick that I ever got, was watching Bindi & Derek do the "Crocodile Rock"!

I knew that Bindi would have
to be some kind of good ...
just because she's partnered with Derek!;
but, Wow! What an opening number!
Just look at her posture ... how her toes are pointed ... just... Wow!

Seriously now, they were "hoppin' and boppin' to the Crocodile Rock" like nobody's business!; and, Bindi's Jiving, in particular, was "somethin' shockin' "!

I mean to say, she had it all!!  Rhythm, speed, the pointed toes, the pizzazz! ... I think that her overall frame in the dance definitely would have benefitted from the wearing of some heels; buuut, otherwise, "it was out of sight"!

And I simply must take a paragraph here and compliment Derek's exceptional choreography!  Crikey mate, it was bloomin' brilliant!  The fast, rip 'em - roar 'em steps left absolutely NOTHING to be desired; and, the crocodile-scaled floor and background, the Crocodile Hunter Khakis, and the green, crocodile dress was a Crazy-Cute Concept!

to Derek for choreography!
I mean this was, quite possibly, the
cutest Jive I've ever seen! "Chock-a-block" full
of content (Len, Where are you when we need you?),
 completely age-appropriate, and, most of all,
fun, fun, fun!

In the end, what I guess I am trying to express is, "Hey!  You came out there, full on, and I loved it!  Well done!" (I reeaaally miss Head Judge, Len Goodman!  Can you tell?)!  

Which brings me to the second half of our Top-scoring Tie, Nick Carter and the ever-talented Sharna Burgess!

Nick & Sharna - Cha-Cha
DWTS Season 21, Week 01

I didn't just like that Cha-Cha, I Loved it! Sharna's choreography was absolutely killer; and, I particularly enjoyed how much fun she was so obviously having, incorporating some Backstreet Boys moves into the routine!

She is having so much fun!

Nick's dancing was overall as expected: smooth, easy, and rhythmic (and those opening, silhouetted, posed lines were mind-blowingly PERFECT!),

This silhouetted beginning was positively
genius!  Look at Nick's lines!  He may not have
done the perfect Cha-cha in Week 01; but,
he clearly has potential! 

although I did find his Cha-Cha-ing steps, lines, and frame to be somewhat timid.

That said, it was a very good showing, in general, especially considering that this is only Week 01 of the competition!
